In a command output control apparatus, one of first and second storage areas that corresponds to the smaller number of subcommands is selected as a storage area subjected to division, according to a comparison result by a subcommand number comparison unit. From partial storage areas constituting the storage area subjected to the division, a partial storage area no smaller than a predetermined size is selected as a partial storage area subjected to the division, according to a comparison result by a size comparison unit. Subcommands for accessing partial storage areas obtained by dividing the partial storage area subjected to the division are generated by an access area division unit. A subcommand for accessing the partial storage area subjected to the division is replaced with the generated subcommands. Subcommands are alternately selected from first and second subcommand groups after the replacement and outputted to a memory.

Command output control apparatus

The decoding apparatus in the present invention includes a memory operable to hold encoded data representing one of a compressed sound and a compressed image, a memory read-out unit operable to sequentially read out the encoded data from said memory, a match determining circuit operable to determine whether or not data matching a specific bit sequence exists in the encoded data read out by said memory read-out unit, a deleting circuit operable to delete a part of the specific bit sequence from the encoded data read out from said memory, when said match determining circuit determines that the specific bit sequence exists, and a decoding circuit operable to decode the post-deletion encoded data.

It cannot be ensured that display setting changes are made at once in a system in which the number of display settings for a display processing apparatus is extremely large, an application is running under an operating system and display setting register change time is unpredictable from the application due to another task, or an internal configuration is incapable of immediately reflecting access from a host CPU to a display setting register. According to the present invention, outputs of a plurality of first display setting registers mapped into an address space for temporarily holding display setting data generated and outputted by a host CPU under control of a write control signal are connected to inputs of a plurality of second display setting registers holding display setting parameters referenced by display output module. Timing of a write into the second display setting registers is controlled by using a vertical sync signal and output from a display control register temporarily holding display control information generated and outputted by the host CPU, thereby allowing display settings to be reliably updated at once and allowing display outputs to be matched with the display settings without degrading system performance.

Video signal processing system

An image data composition apparatus includes a color table in which color data for each of plural color codes is associated with transparency data relating to the transparency of this color data. The color table receives first image data which has data relating to the color of an image as the color code, accepts the color code from the first image data, and outputs the color data and the transparency data which correspond to this color code. The apparatus further includes a composition unit which receives second image data having, as color data, information relating to the color of an image, and composes the color data of this second image data with the color data output from the color table in accordance with a transparency which is decided by the transparency data. Accordingly, the number of transparent colors can be increased by only rewriting the transparency data of the color codes to be transparent colors on the color table and, therefore, the circuit scale is not increased to increase the number of transparent colors. Further, since the transparency data corresponding to each color code is directly output from the color table, the processing cycle is not increased.
