A distracted-driving monitoring apparatus for a vehicle includes an imaging device and a determiner. The imaging device is configured to capture an image indicating at least an occupant of the vehicle. The determiner is configured to make a determination on distracted driving of the occupant of the vehicle based on the captured image. The determiner is configured to determine areas in the captured image corresponding to areas that the occupant faces from among divided areas obtained by dividing a viewing range. The viewing range corresponds to a range where the occupant is likely to face while the vehicle is in operation. The determiner is configured to execute determination processing differently for each of the determined areas to make the determination on the distracted driving of the occupant.

Distracted-driving monitoring apparatus for vehicle

A vehicle occupant monitoring apparatus includes an operation determination unit and an output unit. The operation determination unit is configured to process a captured image obtained by an imaging device configured to capture an image of an occupant in a vehicle. The operation determination unit is further configured to determine a non-contact operation provided by the occupant. The output unit is configured to output a control signal associated beforehand with the non-contact operation that is provided by the occupant and that is determined by the operation determination unit.

Vehicle occupant monitoring apparatus

A vehicle driving assist system includes an imaging device, an alarm, and a controller. The controller includes a facial recognition unit, an occupant determination unit, and a loss determination unit. The facial recognition unit recognizes at least a part of an occupant's face in first captured images acquired from the imaging device. The occupant determination unit determines a driving state of the occupant on the basis of a second captured image in which at least the part of the face is recognizable, and generate a first alert request if the occupant is unable to drive the vehicle. The loss determination unit generates a second alert request if a third captured image in which at least the part of the face is unrecognizable occurs two or more times. The alarm outputs an alert to the occupant on the basis of the first and second alert requests.

Vehicle driving assist system

A vehicle with an occupant protection function includes an occupant protection device and an occupant monitoring device. The occupant protection device is provided in the vehicle and configured to perform protection operation of supporting, with a seatbelt, an occupant in the vehicle upon collision of the vehicle. The occupant monitoring device is provided in the vehicle and configured to monitor the occupant in the vehicle. The occupant monitoring device is configured to determine whether the occupant in the vehicle is aware of the collision of the vehicle. The occupant protection device is configured to, in a case where the occupant monitoring device determines that the occupant is unaware of the collision of the vehicle, increase tension of the seatbelt gradually as compared with a case where the occupant monitoring device determines that the occupant is aware of the collision.

Vehicle with occupant protection function

An occupant monitoring device for a vehicle is configured to monitor an occupant sitting on a seat provided in the vehicle and includes a light projector, an imaging device, and a processor. The light projector is configured to project light toward the occupant sitting on the seat. The imaging device is configured to capture an image of the occupant sitting on the seat. The processor is configured to control the light projector and the imaging device to capture the image of the occupant sitting on the seat. In a case where a collision of the vehicle is neither predicted nor detected, the processor causes the imaging device to capture an image of behavior of the occupant corresponding to either one of travel control and behavior of the vehicle so as to change occupant protection control.

Occupant monitoring device for vehicle and occupant protection system for vehicle

An occupant monitoring device for a vehicle includes an imaging device and a controller. The imaging device is configured to capture an image of an occupant in the vehicle. The controller is configured to perform, on a basis of the image captured by the imaging device, a plurality of determination processes including a behavior detection process of detecting a behavior of the occupant. The controller is further configured to, in a case where collision of the vehicle is predicted or detected, stop one or more of the determination processes other than the behavior detection process and perform the behavior detection process.

Occupant monitoring device for vehicle and traffic system

An occupant monitoring device is mountable in a vehicle, and configured to monitor one or more occupants riding in the vehicle. The occupant monitoring device includes: a recognizer that recognizes one or more occupants riding in the vehicle; a recognized occupant storage that stores occupant information recognized by the recognizer; a setting storage that stores setting for the one or more occupants, stored in the recognized occupant storage; and a monitor that monitors the one or more occupants riding in the vehicle based on the setting of the setting storage. When the recognizer is unable to identify an occupant by recognition processing, the recognized occupant storage stores guest information which does not identify the occupant, and the monitor monitors a guest who has ridden in the vehicle, based on the setting of the setting storage.

Occupant monitoring device for vehicle

An occupant monitoring device for a vehicle in which an occupant sits on a seat provided in an occupant compartment includes an imaging device and a plurality of light projectors. The imaging device is configured to capture an image of a plurality of occupants sitting side-by-side in a vehicle width direction. The plurality of light projectors are provided in correspondence with a plurality of seat positions of the seat and are configured to project light toward the seated occupants.

An occupant monitoring device which is provided in a vehicle, and monitors one or more occupants riding in the vehicle. The occupant monitoring device includes: a recognizer that recognizes one or more occupants riding in the vehicle; a monitor that monitors the one or more occupants riding in the vehicle according to a result of recognition of the one or more occupants by the recognizer; a start controller that individually starts or stops the recognizer and the monitor. The start controller starts the recognizer in a stopped state of the monitor.
