An automatic stop valve device adapted to be mounted in the fluid pressure brake system of a vehicle and having a valve mechanism capable of being shifted between an open and a closed state and operative by closing to maintain fluid pressure in the system to hold the brakes in an applied condition. An electromagnetic mechanism having a coil and an armature actuated by the coil is capable of shifting the valve mechanism to its closed state. The electromagnetic mechanism is arranged to be energized to hold the brakes in the applied condition when a moving vehicle is brought to a stop, to maintain the valve mechanism closed while the vehicle remains stopped to hold the brakes in the applied condition and to open the valve mechanism when the operation of the vehicle resumes to release the brakes. Provision of a bypass around the valve mechanism permits the fluid pressure transmitted to hold the brakes to be increased even when the electromagnetic mechanism is energized to actuate the valve mechanism to its closed state.

Automatic stop valve device for vehicle brake systems

Reduction in weight and simplification of structure of a pin type disc brake for a vehicle are attained by using left and right guide pins. In the past such pins been used to carrying a caliper and permit movement thereof in the axial direction of a disc to push a pair of inner and outer friction pads against both sides of the disc. In this brake disc the pins are arranged to carry the inner and outer friction pads in addition to the caliper.

In a pin-slide type disc brake, the caliper of the disc brake is prevented from dropping or turning on a slide pin due to its own weight during replacement of the friction pads of the disc brake by providing a fitting hole in a part of a support straddling the disc in the radial direction of the disc and in the vicinity of a caliper guide mechanism located on the upper side of the support. A rigid rod is fitted into the hole and arranged to have, for example, the inner wall of the disc straddling portion of the caliper come to engage it to thus prevent the caliper from dropping when it is turned about the slide pin.

An improvement on a caliper guiding mechanism for a disc brake in which an auxiliary slide pin is arranged to be slidable in metallic contact, instead of conventional elastic contact, in the same manner as a main slide pin to an extent corresponding to a distance of a gap normally existing between a disc and each of friction pads. The invented arrangement is such that there is no difference between these slide pins in resistance to caliper sliding movement to prevent uneven wear and dragging of the friction pads. Despite of the sliding arrangement, the auxiliary slide pin is capable of absorbing a certain degree of machining error or a change in the parallel relative positions of the sliding pins caused by a torque during brake application.

Caliper guiding mechanism for disc brake

A device for guiding a caliper in a disk brake including a portion of the disk brake which is fixed, a caliper body and a sliding sheet having a high degree of resistance to corrosion which is fixedly placed on a sliding surface between the fixed portion of the disk brake and the caliper body to thereby avoid entry of dusts, muddy water, and salt containing snow into the sliding portion, thus maintaining a proper braking performance. The sliding sheet may be made of stainless steel.

A sealing boot for hydraulically or pneumatically operated equipments comprising an external portion which is pressed by a resilient ring into fitted engagement with a circumferential groove provided in a cylinder body, an internal portion which is tightly attached to the outer edge of a piston and a flexible portion which connects said external portion to said internal portion, the external portion being provided with a recess which is arranged in the direction of the width of the external portion to form a continuous curve.
