A connector has first group terminals and second group terminals. Each of the first group terminals is provided with one first contact portion and at least one first wire connection portion. The first contact portion is located forward of the first wire connection portion. Each of the second group terminals is provided with one second contact portion and one second wire connection portion. The second contact portion is located forward of the second wire connection portion. The first contact portion and the second contact portion are arranged in a pitch direction. In the pitch direction, between adjacent two of the first contact portions, at least two of the second contact portions are located. The first wire connection portion is located at a position different from a position of the second wire connection portion in the front-rear direction and in the up-down direction.

An adapter assembly is used to attach a module having a mating interposed portion to an attachment member having a mating fixing portion. The adapter assembly comprises a main member having a fixed portion and an interposed portion, a fixing member, a first interposing member having a first interposing portion and a second interposing member having a rotation stopper and a second interposing portion. When the module is attached to the attachment member, the fixed portion is interposed and fixed between the fixing member and the mating fixing portion, and the mating interposed portion is interposed and held between the interposed portion pressed by the first interposing portion and the second interposing portion. During the attachment process of the module, the rotation stopper prevents the second interposing member from being rotated relative to the module.

Adapter assembly and device

A differential signal connector includes a plurality of pairs of signal contacts, a plurality of ground contacts, and an insulating housing holding the signal contacts and the ground contacts. On a first connection side for connection to a connection partner, the ground contacts are arranged on both sides of each pair of signal contacts so that a contact array of a fixed pitch is formed. On a second connection side for connection to a board, the ground contacts are arranged spaced apart from each other in a first row, while the pairs of signal contacts, which are adjacently arranged on both sides of the ground contact on the first connection side, are arranged so as to be allocated in a second row and a third row located on both sides of the first row so that the pairs of signal contacts are arranged zigzag on the second connection side.

Differential signal connector capable of reducing skew between a differential signal pair

A locking portion formed by bending is provided at a free end portion of a cantilever-like spring piece extending from a shell body on the outer side of a receptacle connector and folded back outward. The locking portion protrudes into the shell body through a hole of the shell body. Then, a sheared surface, formed by press working, of the locking portion is brought into contact with a plug connector fitted into the shell body, thereby obtaining a friction lock between the receptacle connector and the plug connector.

A connector is mateable with a mating connector along a mating direction. The connector comprises a housing, a plurality of first contacts, a plurality of second contacts and a ground plate. The housing has a plate-like portion extending in a predetermined plane which is defined by the mating direction and a pitch direction perpendicular to the mating direction. The plate-like portion has a first principal surface and a second principal surface which is opposite to the first principal surface in a predetermined direction perpendicular to both the mating direction and the pitch direction. The first contacts are held by the housing. The first contacts have first contact portions, respectively. The second contacts are held by the housing. The second contacts have second contact portions, respectively. The ground plate includes a main portion. The main portion is formed with a plurality of openings. Each of the openings pierces the main portion in the predetermined direction and has a closed periphery in the predetermined plane. The main portion is embedded in the plate-like portion by insert molding. The main portion is positioned between the first contact portions and the second contact portions in the predetermine direction.

Connector with interposed ground plate

A USB receptacle is mateable along a predetermined direction with a special USB plug comprising an identifiable portion. The USB receptacle comprises a holding member and a detector. The holding member includes a body portion having a plate-like shape extending in the predetermined direction. The detector is held by a side portion of the body portion. The detector has a contact portion. The contact portion does not overlap the body portion at all in a vertical direction perpendicular to the predetermined direction. When the USB receptacle and the special USB plug are mated with each other, the identifiable portion of the special USB plug is connected to the contact portion of the detector.

A connector is mateable with a mating connector including a mating shell. The connector includes a maintaining member. The maintaining member has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion has a first arm and a first maintaining portion supported by the first arm. The second portion has a second arm and a second maintaining portion supported by the second arm. When the connector and the mating connector are mated with each other, a side portion of the mating shell is inserted between a front end of the first portion and a front end of the second portion. When the connector is in a mated state where the connector is mated with the mating connector, the maintaining member holds the side portion of the mating shell by the first maintaining portion and the second maintaining portion to maintain the mated state.

Preparation is made of first and second contact assemblies in each of which ends of a plurality of contacts are respectively coupled to a plurality of coupling portions of a carrier. The coupling portions of at least one of the first and second contact assemblies are bent so as to offset the contacts in a thickness direction of the carrier. Then, the first and second contact assemblies are combined together in a state where the carriers overlap each other and the contacts are aligned with and spaced apart from each other in the same plane. After integrating the contacts, the coupling portions are cut off. Then, the integrated contacts are collectively inserted into a shell.

Methods of manufacturing a connector component having a narrow-pitch connector group

An electrical connector comprises a metal shell defining an opening for inserting a connection counterpart therethrough. The electrical connector has a cantilever spring extending from an end, on the opening side, of the metal shell and folded back outward. The cantilever spring has a free end portion passing through a hole formed in the metal shell, and extending to the inside of the metal shell. Preferably, the metal shell has a top surface and a bottom surface facing each other and the cantilever spring is provided to at least one of the top surface and the bottom surface.

Electrical connector improved in electromagnetic shielding effect while suppressing an increase in external dimensions

A connector has a plurality of high-speed differential signal lanes each of which includes two first contacts for high-speed differential signal transmission and two ground contacts. A second contact which does not belong to the high-speed differential signal lanes is arranged between the high-speed differential signal lanes. On a first connection side for connection with a connecting object, contacting portions of the contacts are arranged in a single row at a distance from one another. On a second connection side for connection with a mounting object, terminal portions of the first contacts and terminal portions of the ground contacts are arranged in a first row at a distance wider than that between the contacting portions while a terminal portion of the second contact is arranged in a second row.
