A sewing machine includes a drive shaft rotated by a motor, a cam member fixed to the drive shaft and including a first cam and a second cam, a forked member including a main body member and an auxiliary member, an urging device, and a presser mechanism. At least one of a first cam surface of the first cam and a second cam surface of the second cam is inclined with respect to the drive shaft. The main body member and the auxiliary member are disposed to face each other such that the cam member is clamped between them. The urging device urges the main body member and the auxiliary member in a direction to clamp the cam member. The presser mechanism drives a presser member to hold a cloth, by swinging of the forked member caused by the rotation of the cam member.

Sewing machine

A sewing machine acquires sewing data to sew a cross stitch pattern. The sewing machine sets a planned sewing position of the cross stitch pattern. The sewing machine identities a position of at least one interstice on the sewing workpiece based on the generated image data. The sewing machine determines a sewing: position of the cross stitch pattern based on the set planned sewing position, and on the identified position of the at least one interstice. The sewing machine corrects the sewing data based on the determined sewing position. The sewing machine drives the sewing mechanism and the movement mechanism based on the corrected sewing data, such that the cross stitch pattern is sewn on the sewing workpiece.

An apparatus includes a moving device moving a holding member and a cutting or printing head relative to each other. The apparatus specifies, as a designated position, a position of an ultrasonic source located within a projection range on the holding member. The apparatus determines an edit pattern to be applied to an object based on the designated position to be specified and also determines a cutting or printing position on the object based on the designated position to be specified. The edit pattern is projected onto a holding region of the holding member and a menu image is projected onto an edge region of the holding member. The apparatus edits the edit pattern according to editing contents and generates data to perform cutting or printing on the object. The apparatus controls the moving device based on the generated data.

An apparatus includes an information obtaining device configured to obtain information representing an optionally designated position on an object, a projector, a processing device, a pattern specifying device and a control device. A sewing machine includes a position acquisition device, a projection device, a processor, and a memory. The position acquisition device is configured to acquire information describing at least one designated position, each of the at least one designated position being a position on a sewing workpiece. The projection device is configured to project an image onto the sewing workpiece. The memory is configured to store non-transitory computer-readable instructions that instruct the processor to execute a step that includes specifying the at least one designated position on the sewing workpiece described by the information acquired by the position acquisition device. Embroidery thread information included in embroidery data is read out in a sequential order, and embroidery thread information and specified thread information are compared with each other. An embroidery pattern having embroidery data of which all of the embroidery thread information is coincident with the specified thread information is extracted as an embroidery pattern that satisfies the embroidery sewing condition. A clip for clamping a cloth according to the invention is mounted on an embroidery frame including an outer frame, and an inner frame which is internally engaged with the outer frame thereby to hold a cloth to be worked between the outer frame and the inner frame. The clip includes a leaf spring member which can be detachably mounted on the outer frame, and an urging member which is fitted to this leaf spring member and adapted to press the cloth to be worked onto the inner frame. The leaf spring member has a first engaging portion adapted to be engaged with a lower part of the outer frame from outside, a first plate portion extending upwardly from the first engaging portion, a second plate portion formed in an upper part of this first plate portion by way of a bent portion and downwardly inclined along an inner face of the outer frame, and a second engaging portion formed in this second plate portion and adapted to be engaged with an upper part of the outer frame from inside. The urging member is provided on the second plate portion and adapted to press a part of the cloth to be worked extending upwardly from between the outer frame and inner frame onto the inner frame. According to the structure, the cloth to be worked can be reliably clamped to be held in a stabilized state, and a slack of the cloth while embroidering can be prevented. At the same time, the clip can be made compact and lightweight, and can be easily mounted or dismounted.
