An adhesive polyester film which comprises a biaxially oriented polyester film base layer and an adhesive layer and which is particularly useful as a base layer for a sublimation-type thermosensitive image transfer recording material. This base layer has no point at which the gradient of its temperature-dimensional change curve changes from a positive value to a negative value when temperature is elevated from the glass transition temperature of the polyester to 240&deg; C. and does not show a dimensional change of more than 5%. The adhesive layer is made from (i) a water-soluble or water-dispersible resin of a polyester modified by a vinyl resin or (ii) a crosslinked resin of a mixture of a water-soluble or water-dispersible acrylic resin, a water-soluble or water-dispersible polyester resin and an epoxy resin crosslinking agent.

An antistatic polyester film having the excellent antistatic property and improved appearance of a coating layer, and a process for producing the same are disclosed. The antistatic polyester film comprises a polyester film having formed on at least one surface thereof an antistatic coating layer obtained by coating a coating liquid containing an organic-inorganic composite conductive sol (A) comprising colloidal particles of conductive oxide, having a primary particle size of 5 to 50 nm, and colloidal particles of a conductive polymer. This antistatic polyester film has excellent antistatic property, particularly excellent antistatic property under the low humidity environment, and therefore is useful in magnetic cards, magnetic disks, printing materials, graphic materials, photosensitive materials and the like.

A laminated film comprising (A) an aromatic polyester film; and (B) a hydrophilic coating layer which is present on at least one side of the aromatic polyester film (A) and has a surface energy of at least 54 dyne/cm, the coating layer comprising (a) 50 to 80% by weight of a copolyester which contains a dicarboxylic acid component having a sulfonate group in an amount of 1 to 16 mol % of the total of all dicarboxylic acid components and has a secondary transition point of 20 to 90.degree. C., (b) 10 to 30% by weight of poly(alkylene oxide) homopolymer having a number average molecular weight of 600 to 2,000, and (c) 3 to 25% by weight of fine particles having an average particle diameter of 20 to 80 nm, based on the total of components (a), (b) and (c). The above laminated film is useful as a transparency for an overhead projector and a recording paper for an ink jet printer.

An adherent polyester film laminate (A) having a coating layer of a composition formed on one side or both sides of a polyester film, the composition comprising, as main components, (i) an aqueous polyester having a secondary transition point of 40 to 85.degree. C. and (ii) a fatty acid bisamide; a polyester film laminate (B) having a hard coat layer formed on the coating layer of the laminate (A); and a polyester film laminate (C) having an anti-reflection layer formed on the hard coat layer of the laminate (B). Since these laminates are excellent in adhesive force, transparency and slipperiness and has an anti-reflection property, they are useful as a face surface protective material for glass and displays.

An antistatic polyester film having formed on at least one side of a polyester film a coating layer which consists essentially of (a) 5 to 40% by weight of a phosphoric acid ester salt-based antistatic agent, (b) 1 to 20% by weight of a surfactant having an HLB value of 12 or less, (c) 40 to 90% by weight of at least one binder selected from acrylic copolymers and polyester copolymers, and (d) 3 to 25% by weight of fine particles having an average particle diameter of 10 to 500 nm and which has an extremely uniform surface. This film is excellent in anti-blocking properties at a high humidity and antistatic properties at a low humidity.

The present invention relates to a polyester film having an antistatic highly adhesive layer and a process for producing the film, said layer comprising a copolymer (A) and a (co)polymer (B), said copolymer (A) being obtained by copolymerizing ##STR1## N-methylol acrylamide, and optionally an ethylenic compound having a carboxy group, and optionally a comonomer, and said (co)polymer (B) being obtained by copolymerizing ##STR2## and optionally a comonomer. The polyester film of the present invention is useful for magnetic cards and the like.
