A package of a heat-bent polarizing sheet for producing an injection-molded polarizing lens and an injection-molded polarizing lens that uses said sheet is provided. The heat-bent polarizing sheet is cumulatively packaged by a non-adhesive isolation film so as to withstand moisture and then stored or transported and can be used in injection molding without performing preliminary drying as a pretreatment of injection molding and without substantial protective-film removal work.

Provided is a functional polyamide sheet in which air bubbles are not generated or are reduced in a polarizing and/or photochromic functional sheet when the polarizing and/or photochromic functional sheet are/is manufactured using a sheet or film formed by a polyamide resin as a protective layer, and a functional polyamide lens using the functional polyamide sheet. Provided are a polyamide functional sheet obtained by disposing a protective layer formed by a transparent plastic sheet or film on at least one surface of a functional layer, which is a polyvinyl alcohol-based polarizing film layer, a photochromic layer, or a combination of these layers, with an adhesive layer being interposed therebetween, in which the protective layer is a sheet or film formed by a polyamide resin, and an oxygen transmission rate at 23&#xb0; C. and 85% RH is 50 cm/m&#xb7;24 hr&#xb7;bar or more, and a functional polyamide lens using the polyamide functional sheet.

Functional sheet

Provided is a polarizing lens which is excellent in terms of impact resistance, outer appearance and prevention of eye strain and which exhibits little variation in color tone and transmittance during formation. The polarizing lens is formed by stretching a polyvinyl alcohol film and dyeing it with a dichroic dye, bonding an aromatic polycarbonate sheet to both surfaces of the film by means of an adhesive layer, and then inserting a polarizing sheet, bent to have a spherical or aspherical surface, into a mold, and injecting aromatic polycarbonate thereto, wherein the area in which the dichroic dye seeps from the surface of the polyvinyl alcohol film is not more than a quarter of the thickness of the polyvinyl alcohol film.

Aromatic polycarbonate polarising lens

Provided is a polarizing lens that is excellent in terms of impact resistance, prevention of eye strain, and a small variation of color tone or transparency or both. A sunglass polarizing lens that is formed by laminating a transparent protective sheet via an adhesive layer to each surface of a polarizing film that is made from polyvinyl alcohol and that is stretched and stained with dichroic organic dye; curving the resultant laminate so as to impart spherical or aspherical surfaces thereto to obtain a polarizing sheet; and injecting a transparent resin for a lens onto a surface of the polarizing sheet, wherein the polarizing film is stained by combined dichroic organic dyes so that the dichroic ratio of the film is within the range of from 5 to 14.

A polarizing film is produced by swelling a polyvinyl alcohol film with water, uniaxially stretching it, dyeing it with an organic dichroic dye, and drying it, wherein a dichroic organic dye composition includes a combination of organic dyes having a dichroic ratio of 13 or higher used in an amount to keep the degree of polarization at 90% or more, and wherein the coloration dye composition comprises a combination of dyes having extremely low dichroic ratios of 4 or less or substantially having no dichroic ratio, laminating at least one layer of a transparent plastic sheet onto at least both sides of the polarizing film, curving the polarizing sheet so as to impart spherical or aspherical surfaces thereto to obtain a polarizing and injecting a transparent resin to the concave surface of the curved polarizing sheet to obtain an injection polarizing lens.

Colored polarizing films, colored polarizing sheets, and colored polarizing lenses, and methods thereof

A colored low-polarizing film of a desired color is produced by causing a polyvinyl alcohol film to swell with water, stretching, dyeing with an organic dichroic dye, and drying it; a polarizing sheet including the film and transparent sheets attached to both sides of the film by an adhesive; and an injection-molded polarizing lens obtained by causing the sheet to curve to impart spherical or aspherical surfaces to obtain a curved polarizing lens and injecting a transparent resin onto the concave surface of the lens. The dye includes a dichroic organic dye and a coloration organic dye, wherein the dichroic composition includes a combination of dichroic dyes having a dichroic ratio of 13 or higher, wherein the coloration dye composition includes a combination of dyes having an extremely low dichroic ratio, of 4 or less, or substantially having no dichroic ratio.
