A heat exchanger having excellent heat exchanging performance is obtainable by a simple production technique and at a low cost. This is achieved by providing a fin member and by increasing heat conductivity between the fin member and a meandering pipe body. Further, the heat exchanger is made compact for high degrees of layout freedom, enabling the heat exchanger to be installed in a tight space. Engagement grooves () are provided in both end surfaces (), which are opposite to each other, of a fin member () in which fins () are parallel arranged. Straight pipe sections () are parallelly arranged, with gaps ()in between, in the engagement grooves () of the fin member (). The straight pipe sections ()are connected at bent sections (). A pair of meandering sections () is arranged opposite to each other with an insertion gap () of the fin member () in between. On () of the meandering sections and the other meandering section () are connected by a connection pipe () to form a meandering pipe main body (). The straight pipe sections () of the one meandering section () are arranged in the engagement grooves () in the one end surface () of the fin member () inserted and arranged in the insertion gap () between the one meandering section () and the other meandering section () of the meandering pipe body (), and the straight pipe sections () of the other meandering section () are arranged and fixed in the engagement grooves () in the other end surface ().

Fuel delivery pipe

A common-rail injection system is provided for a diesel engine and has excellent internal pressure fatigue resisting characteristics, vibrational fatigue resisting characteristics and cavitation resisting property and sheet face flawing resisting property, and can be made thin and light in weight. A main pipe rail is manufactured by transformation induced plastic type strength steel. After the main pipe rail is processed, residual austenite is generated by heat treatment, and the reduction processing of stress concentration of a branch hole and a main pipe rail side flow passage crossing portion is performed. Further, it is preferable that an induced plastic transformation is generated on the inner surface of the main pipe rail by autofrettage processing, and compression residual stress is left.

A branch connector in a fuel pressure accumulating container is joined with a through hole formed on a peripheral wall of the pressure accumulating container. The branch connector is inserted deeply into the through hole until the distal end of the branch connector is projected from the inner peripheral wall surface of the pressure accumulating container. Thus, the internal pressure fatigue strength is improved by lowering the maximum stress value generated at the internal peripheral edge at the lower end of the branch connector.

A joint structure connects a diverging branch pipe to a fuel rail for an internal combustion engine. The fuel rail is stainless steel or steel with rust prevention processing on at least the inner face. The diverging branch pipe is a double pipe with inner and outer pipes. The inner pipe has excellent rust preventing ability with respect to fuel on its inner face in comparison with the outer face of the outer pipe. The inner and outer pipes are connected by a nut for fastening through a joint fitting. A connecting seal portion of the diverging branch pipe and the joint fitting has rust preventing ability equal to that of the inner circumferential face of the diverging branch pipe. An entire liquid contact portion, including a seal face of the diverging branch pipe with respect to the fuel is covered with the inner pipe.

In a high pressure fuel injection pipe, pipe extension and heat treatment are repeated by using a header manufactured by transformation induced plastic type strength steel. A process for depositing residual austenite is then performed, after which a final pipe extension process is performed, and the joint portion is molded and bending processing is performed without performing perfect annealing at the size of a product.

In a fuel supplying mechanism in which fuel delivery pipes of a non-return type are disposed, the generation region of pulsation resonance is arbitrarily controlled, thereby eliminating various disadvantages otherwise occurring where the pulsation resonance point exists in a favorable rotation region for normal use of the engine. Method of controlling pulsation resonance point generating area in opposed engine or in-line engine

A fuel rail assembly for supplying fuel to a plurality of fuel injectors in an engine is provided. This assembly comprises an elongated conduit having a longitudinal fuel passage therein, a fuel inlet pipe fixed to an end or a side of the conduit, and a plurality of branch pipes. The basal end of each branch pipe is adapted to communicate with the fuel passage. The distal end of each branch pipe is provide with a connecting member for connecting to a tip of a fuel injector. The wall of the conduit is provided with holes for receiving the basal ends of the branch pipes. Around each hole an inner collar and an outer collar are integrally formed with the conduit wall, and each branch pipe is fixed to the collars by brazing or welding. The drilling work is performed by a special drilling tool.

Fuel rail assembly and forming method

Connection structure for connecting a piping used in automobiles or the like to a ring joint for providing highly reliable gas-tightness. The ring joint includes a ring joint body including a fitting hole for an eyebolt, the fitting hole being piercingly formed in an axial core portion of the ring joint body and in continuation from an annular recessed groove formed inside the ring joint body, and a flow path extending in a direction perpendicular to and intersecting with the fitting hole. A branch pipe is formed as a unitary body with the ring joint body and arranged in a direction perpendicular to and intersecting with the eyebolt. A piping for insertion into the branch pipe has an outer peripheral surface covered with resin, and the resin of the outer peripheral surface of the piping and an inner peripheral surface of the branch pipe are fixedly welded to one another.
