An electrode member includes a first electrode pattern and a second electrode pattern. In each of the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern, first end portion wires of the first thin metal wires form a pair across the insulation gap, and first end surfaces of the paired first end portion wires are located so as to include portions that face each other with a predetermined distance therebetween in a direction that intersects a first direction. In each of the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern, second end portion wires of the second thin metal wires form a pair across the insulation gap, and second end surfaces of the paired second end portion wires are located so as to include portions that face each other with a predetermined distance therebetween in a direction that intersects a second direction.

Electrode member

A transparent electrode member includes a translucent base, and first transparent electrodes that are arranged side by side in a first direction on a first surface of the base. An insulating layer does not overlap partial regions PR when viewed in the direction of the normal to the first surface. A rectangular region in which a part other than the conductive portion is composed of the partial regions over the entire part is defined as a first rectangular region, a rectangular region in which at least the insulating layer is contained is defined as a second rectangular region, and a relationship between an area Sa of the part other than the conductive portion in the first rectangular region and an area Sb of a part other than the conductive portion in the second rectangular region satisfies Sa/Sb=1±0.3.

Transparent electrode member, multilayer transparent electrode member, and capacitive sensor

A multilayer structure includes a touch sensor and an optical functional layer formed thereon. The optical functional layer includes a phase-difference layer and a linear polarization layer formed thereon on a side opposite to the touch sensor. The phase-difference layer which gives a phase difference to transmitted light has a laminated structure including a 1/4&#x3bb; phase-difference layer and a 1/2&#x3bb; phase-difference layer. The multilayer structure has first and second retardations at wavelengths of 450 nm and 590 nm, respectively, while the optical functional layer has third and fourth retardations at wavelengths of 450 nm and 590 nm, respectively. A first ratio of the first retardation to the second retardation is smaller than 0.763 and greater than a second ratio of the third retardation to the fourth retardation. A slow axis of the base member extends in a direction parallel to a synthesized slow axis of the optical functional layer.

Multilayer structure, method of manufacturing multilayer structure, and image display device

A multilayer structure includes a touch sensor and an optical functional layer, the touch sensor including a base member and a transparent electrode layer. The optical functional layer includes a phase-difference layer that gives a phase difference to transmitted light (a specific example of the phase-difference layer is a multilayer configuration formed of a &#xbc;&#x3bb; phase-difference layer and a &#xbd;&#x3bb; phase-difference layer), and a linear polarizing layer. The optical functional layer is positioned such that a surface thereof on the side on which the phase-difference layer is present faces the touch sensor. In the optical functional layer, the ratio of a retardation at a wavelength of 450 nm to a retardation at a wavelength of 590 nm is less than 0.763, and the slow axis of the base member extends in a direction parallel to the slow axis of the optical functional layer.

First electrode layers are formed from an ITO layer on one surface of a substrate formed from a PET film. The surfaces of the first electrode layers are covered with an insulating layer formed from a dry film resist or the like. Second electrode layers are formed on the surface of the insulating layer in a printing process. The second electrode layer is formed from conductive nanowires or conductive nanotubes. After that, first wiring layers brought into conduction with the first wiring layers and second wiring layers brought into conduction with the second electrode layers are formed.

Input device and method of manufacturing it

The invention provides an electronic circuit module capable of reliably mounting a chip to a multi-layer wiring plate in a flip chip manner. In an electronic circuit module according to an embodiment of the invention, a chip including bumps with a height of d is mounted to a multi-layer wiring plate including surface electrodes and internal electrodes in a flip chip manner. In the multi-layer wiring plate, when the minimum thickness of the surface electrode and the internal electrodes overlapping each other below each of the bumps is TD and the maximum thickness of the surface electrode and the internal electrodes overlapping each other in a space surrounded by the bumps is TI, the surface electrodes and the internal electrodes are arranged so as to satisfy TI&#x3c;TD+d.

Electronic circuit module including chip mounted to multi-layer wiring plate in flip chip manner

The present invention provides a thermal head having a long lifetime and a high printing quality by making the size of steps of a protective layer formed on a heating portion of a heating resistor small and a method for manufacturing the thermal heads. In the thermal head, respective lower-layer electrodes having a film thickness of approximately 2 &mgr;m are formed on outskirts portion of a bulging portion of a heat insulation layer excluding a heating portion of a heating resistor and portions in the vicinity of the heating portion. Then, respective upper-layer electrodes having a film thickness which falls in a range of 0.1 to 0.3 &mgr;m are continuously formed from portions at positions in the vicinity of the heating portion excluding the heating portion to upper surfaces of the lower-layer electrodes. Due to such a constitution, the size of the steps formed in the protective layer can be made extremely small and hence, it becomes possible to prevent dregs and dusts which are generated during printing from being gathered at the steps.
