A transmission device of the present invention comprises: an orthogonal modulator performing orthogonal modulation on a carrier wave using an input signal comprising an in-phase signal component and an orthogonal signal component, and outputs a modulation signal to be transmitted; a detection unit detecting a carrier leaking component included in the modulation signal; a DC offset value computing unit computing a DC offset value to be added to the input signal for compensating the carrier leaking component, based on the carrier leaking component; and an abnormality judgment unit judging abnormality of the orthogonal modulator based on the DC offset value. By monitoring the DC offset value, a failure of the orthogonal modulator or an indication thereof is detected, and transmission of an abnormal modulation signal including a distortion component is prevented. An increase of the leaking power to adjacent channels, which causes the quality deterioration in adjacent radio communication lines, can be prevented.

Transmission device

An image data control apparatus includes a memory for storing image data and a reader for reading the image data from the memory. Printing system for dividing a page into blocks

When a host computer makes a printer print a document, the driver on the host computer sends character codes of characters that appear for the first time in that document and corresponding character images to the printer in advance, and registers them. After this process, the driver transmits, to the printer, characters in the document to be printed as character codes, and data other than characters as mapped image. The printer maps an image on a page memory, maps characters as images with reference to the registered character codes and character image, and superposes the mapped character images on the image mapped on the page buffer. The printer prints the image on paper. The printer can divide an image into bands, and can map the image in units of bands, in place of pages. With this arrangement, the memory capacity can be reduced, and bands having identical contents or blank bands can be processed as codes.

Printing system

An inputted signal applied to an input terminal of a detecting circuit is rectified in a positive amplitude range thereof by a rectifier block and stored in a capacitor. In a negative amplitude range, the electric energy stored in the capacitor is discharged through a load block. The rectifier block and the load block have equal impedances, and hence a time constant when the capacitor is charged is equal to a time constant when the capacitor is discharged. A DC signal outputted from an output terminal of the detecting circuit has a level which is the same as the average power level of the inputted signal. The detecting circuit is capable of outputting a DC signal which is accurately representative of the power level of the inputted signal.

An upstream PCM link accommodated in a new switch is bridged to a downstream PCM link accommodated in an old switch in the normal operating condition. A test unit sends the number of a subscriber to be tested to an old and new switches. The old switch sends call control information corresponding to the directory number of a subscriber to be tested as a normal call process. A test call control information monitor in the new switch monitors whether or not the call control information is properly received through a call control information extractor provided in the new switch as a standard component. Thus, a board-to-board test can be conducted by combining a normal call function in the old switch and a standard call control information extracting function of the new switch with a plurality of subscriber signals multiplexed in physical links in the PCM link without excessively increasing a load of the switch.
