A wire harness manufacturing method includes: an insertion step of inserting a binding member through an insertion hole of a protective member; a temporary retention step of inserting the binding member through a temporary retention notch in a state where the binding member is inserted through the insertion hole, and hooking the binding member, which is in a state of being inserted through the temporary retention notch, to the temporary retention projection to achieve temporary retention of the binding member on the temporary retention projection; a routing step of routing a wiring member in a routing space in a state where the binding member is temporarily retained on the temporary retention projection; and a binding step of detaching the binding member.

Wire harness manufacturing method, wire harness, protective member assembly, and protective member

A protector includes a protector body, a lid member, and an engagement mechanism. The lid member has a ceiling and a protrusion. When a first wiring member and a second wiring member are accommodated in an accommodating space in a non-regular arrangement in which a peripheral surface of the first wiring member contacts a bottom and a peripheral surface of the second wiring member contacts the peripheral surface of the first wiring member, the peripheral surface of the second wiring member contacts the protrusion on the way of the transition of the engagement mechanism from a non-engagement state to an engagement state. When accommodated in a regular arrangement, the engagement mechanism transitions from the non-engagement state to the engagement state.

Protector

A wire harness includes a connector, a grommet assembled to the connector and being in close contact with one opening edge portion of an attachment hole of a panel, and a plurality of electric wires that are inserted into the grommet. The connector includes terminal fittings provided at end portions of the plurality of electric wires, a connector housing that accommodates the terminal fittings, and an inner member having an annular plate-shaped flange disposed outside the connector housing. The grommet includes a flange assembly portion that is assembled to the flange, and an electric wire accommodating dome portion that accommodates drawn-out portions of the plurality of electric wires being drawn out from the connector housing. The inner member includes two deformation preventing walls that prevent the electric wire accommodating dome portion from being deformed inward.

Wire harness and grommet detachment preventing structure

A wire harness includes a connector and a grommet. The connector includes an inner member having an annular plate-shaped flange. The inner member includes a first divided inner part, a second divided inner part, a deformable hinge that connects one end of the first divided inner part and one end of the second divided inner part to each other, and a lock portion that is formed on a fitting portion between the other end of the first divided inner part and the other end of the second divided inner part. The lock portion is formed on a portion where the other end of the first divided inner part and the other end of the second divided inner part are fitted to each other by sliding movement in accordance with a twisting of the hinge about a first axis.

Wire harness and waterproof structure

A grommet includes a tapered barrel part and a tape winding spatula part. The tapered barrel part includes a large diameter cylindrical portion, a small diameter cylindrical portion, and an elastic deformation portion disposed between the large diameter cylindrical portion and the small diameter cylindrical portion. A fitting groove to be fitted in a through hole of a panel, is formed on the large diameter cylindrical portion. A thick walled portion is formed on an inner side of the elastic deformation portion. The tape winding spatula part is connected to the small diameter cylindrical portion and holds a wire harness passed through therein.

Grommet

A grommet includes: an enlarged-diameter cylindrical portion that has a fitted groove that is around a larger-diameter-side peripheral portion and is configured to be fitted to a through hole of a panel, and an elastically deformable portion that extends from the larger-diameter-side peripheral portion to a smaller-diameter-side peripheral portion and is elastically deformable; and a smaller-diameter cylindrical portion that is configured to be connected with the smaller-diameter-side peripheral portion of the enlarged-diameter cylindrical portion, and in which a wire harness is inserted. A reinforcement rib protrudes from an interior surface of the elastically deformable portion of the enlarged-diameter cylindrical portion. The reinforcement rib is T-shaped. The reinforcement rib has depressions for deformation. The depressions for deformation face in the opposite directions. An intersection of the reinforcement rib that is T-shaped is between the depressions for deformation.

A grommet includes a panel mounting portion to be mounted on a panel having an attachment hole, and an inner member to be assembled to the panel mounting portion and fitted into the attachment hole to lock an edge portion of the attachment hole. The panel mounting portion includes a base portion formed in an annular shape, a seal portion formed on the base portion, and a groove portion formed between the base portion and the seal portion, the groove portion being continuous in a peripheral direction. The inner member includes a restriction piece, which abuts against the edge portion of the attachment hole when the inner member is obliquely fitted into the attachment hole of the panel.

A grommet which is configured to cover a periphery of a wire harness includes a panel mounting portion which is configured to be mounted to a panel. The panel mounting portion includes a base portion which is formed in an annular shape, a seal portion which is formed on the base portion and is configured to be in close contact with a surface of the panel, and a groove portion which is formed between the base portion and the seal portion along a peripheral direction of the panel mounting portion. A plurality of reinforcing ribs are configured to connect the base portion and the seal portion and are arranged in the peripheral direction in the groove portion, and the reinforcing ribs are inclined with respect to a mounting direction of the panel mounting portion to the panel.

A protector includes a body portion defining a plurality of paths through which electric wires of a wire harness can pass, an electric holding portion and a cover portion. The electric wire holding portion includes a holding piece which can be disposed so as to pass through an upper side of a first path and extend toward a partition wall from a first side wall, an engaging piece which can be disposed so as to pass through a lower side of a second path and extend toward a second side wall from the partition wall, and an intermediate piece which connects the holding piece and the engaging piece, and is fixable to the body portion.

Protector for wire harness, and method for manufacturing wire harness

A panel mounting portion of a grommet includes an annular shaped base portion, a seal portion formed on the base portion, and a groove portion formed between the base portion and the seal portion. The seal portion includes a support portion extending forward from the base portion in a mounting direction to the panel, an extension portion extending outward from the support portion in a radial direction, a lip portion formed on the extension portion such that the lip portion protrudes forward in the mounting direction, and a thin portion formed at a middle portion of the support portion in the mounting direction. The panel mounting portion is pressed against the panel, so that the support portion is elastically deformed at the thin portion. And, the lip portion is in close contact with the panel in a state of protruding forward in the mounting direction.

Grommet with deformable seal

A grommet which can maintain water tightness in response to inclination is provided. In an attachment section of the grommet, a substantially right-angled first bending portion is formed between a first flange portion and a tubular portion. Thus, when the attachment section is inclined with respect to a panel member, the first bending portion changes in angle, thereby absorbing the inclination, and thereby maintaining the contact between the annular lip portion and a planar portion. As a result, water tightness can be maintained in response to the inclination.

A grommet which can prevent unintended deformation of an annular lip portion is provided. The annular lip portion is configured to be compressed in a compression direction corresponding to a direction perpendicular to a plane of a panel member. Thus, even if the annular lip portion is formed with a large length to ensure a pushing force against a planar portion, a tip edge of the annular lip portion is unlikely to be located in the vicinity of a first flange portion. Therefore, the annular lip portion is avoided from contacting the other members, preventing unintended deformation of the annular lip portion.

A grommet which allows an annular lip portion to be pushed hardly against a panel member is provided. When the annular lip portion abuts on a planar portion on a radially inner side than an outer peripheral edge of a flange portion, a protruding portion of the annular lip portion is sandwiched between the planar portion and the flange portion. An inner member of a grommet is made of a material having a higher degree of hardness than the material of a body of the grommet, thereby allowing the annular lip portion to be pushed hardly against the panel member.

A resin molded body () includes a metal attachment member () and an extension part () extending from the resin molded body. At least one part of the metal attachment member () is exposed in a mounting surface () of the resin molded body. The mounting surface () is to be facing to the mounting target when the resin molded body is fixed to a mounting target. At least one part of the extension part () is protruded outside the mounting surface. A protrusion length of the at least one part of the extension part () from the mounting surface is larger than a protrusion length of the metal attachment member () from the mounting surface. The at least one part is configured to allow deforming in a direction away from the mounting target when the resin molded body is fixed to the mounting target.
