An enameled wire which can be safely used for electric machinery such as an electric motor and transformer without causing smoking or fire accidents comprising a conductive wire coated with a thermoplastic straight chain polyurethane having therein the following repeating unit ##STR1## wherein R and R' each represents a divalent group having at least 2 carbon atoms.

Enameled wires

An enamelled wire comprising a layer of baked insulation formed on the conductor either directly or through another insulation can be produced by applying to at least the outermost layer of the wire a wire enamel composition consisting essentially of a polyester resin at least one molecule of which is terminated with a straight alkyl group having 21 or more carbon atoms, and drying the same.

Enamelled wire

A self-bonding magnet wire comprising a conductor having a baked overcoat applied over another insulation layer is disclosed. Said overcoat is applied from an enamel composition consisting essentially of a polyhydroxyether or sulfonated polyhydroxyether having a straight alkyl group of 21 or more carbon atoms connected to a terminal or a side chain of at least one molecule of the polymer.

Self-bonding magnet wires

A magnet wire comprising a layer of baked enamel formed on the conductor either directly or through another insulation is disclosed. At least the outermost layer of the wire has an insulation coating formed by applying and baking an enamel composition consisting essentially of a polyamide at least one molecule of which is terminated with a straight alkyl group having 21 or more carbon atoms.

Magnet wires

A magnet wire comprising a conductor having thereon an outermost insulating wire enamel layer, either directly or over another insulating layer, said wire enamel consisting essentially of a polyamideimide wherein either one or both ends of at least one polyamideimide molecule is a terminal linear alkyl group having at least 21 carbon atoms. The magnet wire has a high resistance to refrigerant as well as to thermal or mechanical damage and has a high lubricity.

Magnet wire

A self-bonding magnet wire produced by coating an insulated conductor with an enamel composition consisting essentially of a thermoplastic linear polyurethane prepared by reacting a glycolic component comprising polyoxyalkylene glycol or polyoxyalkylene glycol and alkylene glycol with an aromatic diisocyanate and baking the coated conductor.

Self-bonding magnet wire

A self-bonding magnet wire suitable for use in making coils, especially deflection yoke coils for television, obtained by coating and baking on a bare conductor or an insulated wire conductor an enamel comprising a polymer solution prepared by reacting two or more copolyamides, at least one of which is a copolyamide containing a nylon-12 unit in the molecule thereof, under heating in a solvent containing at least one compound with a phenolic hydroxyl group in the molecule thereof.
