An electronic control unit has (i) a readiness storage area storing readiness indicating that an abnormality diagnosis for diagnosing an abnormality diagnosis item is complete, and (ii) a microcomputer clearing all readiness upon receiving an all clear request based on a condition that is different from a reception of the all clear request. In such configuration, the all clear request for clearing all readiness in the readiness storage area is appropriately handled by the electronic control unit.

Electronic control unit

A control device for a vehicle includes: a plurality of controllers, each of which executes a plurality of energy saving control modes for restricting reduction of driving energy of the vehicle; a selector for displaying the plurality of energy saving control modes at the same time and for prompting an user of the vehicle to select execution or rejection of one of the plurality of energy saving control modes; and a central control device for controlling one of the plurality of controllers to execute a corresponding energy saving control mode, of which the execution is selected by the user, so that a maximum cruising range of the vehicle is expanded without providing a feeling of discomfort.

In-vehicle controller

A vehicle behavior data storage control system including a storage control device and an ECU is disclosed. Upon determining occurrence of an unexpected behavior, the storage control device stores an unexpected behavior data in a memory and transmits the unexpected behavior data. The ECU determines whether or not the unexpected behavior data matches an estimated behavior data indicative of a behavior estimated to occur due to control processing of the ECU. When both data match each other, the ECU transmits the matching information. The storage control device, upon receipt of the matching information, deletes or permits overwriting the unexpected behavior data stored in the memory.

Vehicle behavior data storage control system and electronic control unit

A vehicle behavior data storage control system is disclosed. The system includes a storage control device and an electronic control unit (ECU). The storage control device determines whether or not an unexpected behavior has occurred based on a behavior data. When the ECU determines that a change in the behavior data is attributed to control performed by the ECU, the ECU transmits a determination result to an in-vehicle network. At a time when the storage control device determines that the unexpected behavior has occurred, the storage control device records the behavior data at this time in the memory. When determining that the unexpected behavior relates to the control performed by the ECU, the storage control device deletes or permits overwriting the behavior data stored in the memory.

Vehicle behavior data storage control system, electronic control unit and data storage device

An electric control unit may include a behavior check unit, a drive information store unit, a classify unit, a count unit and a condition set unit. The behavior check unit determines whether a vehicle behavior is generated by comparing the vehicle behavior with a detection condition. The drive information store unit stores information of the vehicle behavior in a memory unit drive when the vehicle behavior is generated. The classify unit classifies the vehicle behavior into one of a plurality of behavior classes. The behavior classes are arranged to classify the vehicle behavior according to a magnitude of the vehicle behavior. The count unit controls a counter for each behavior class according to the classification of the vehicle behavior. Based on the counters of each of the behavior classes, the condition set unit sets the detection condition as a boundary condition of one of the behavior classes.

Electric control unit

A diagnostic information collection apparatus includes: multiple abnormality detection sections corresponding to respective diagnostic objects in a vehicle to detect an abnormality; and a memory. Each abnormality detection section includes: an abnormality occurrence determination unit; an abnormality confirming unit; a normality conforming unit; a state information generation unit that generates state information indicative of a determination result whether abnormality decision is in progress; and an abnormality-related information processing unit that controls the memory to store identification information about the diagnostic object when the abnormality occurrence determination unit determine the abnormality occurrence at a first time, specifies another abnormality detection section having state information indicative of abnormality decision in progress, and controls the memory to store identification information of the specified another abnormality detection section.

Diagnostic information collection apparatus

When a non-volatile memory such as an EEPROM has a trouble code storage area and a status information area, status information is stored in the status information area after completion of storage of a trouble code in the trouble code storage area. Even when storage of the trouble code in a second storage area is interrupted due to a power fault with a result of three area discrepancy, the storage of the trouble code in the storage area is determined as not complete based on the status information, thereby leading to an appropriate data recovery of the trouble code in the trouble code storage area for an improvement of storage reliability of a vehicular memory management apparatus.

Vehicular memory management apparatus

The electronic control apparatus includes a rewritable nonvolatile memory, a first function of performing a monitoring operation to detect abnormalities in each of a first to N-th (N being an integer larger than 2) items, and a second function of, when the first function detects an abnormality in an M-th (M being an integer larger than 1 and not larger than the N), storing an abnormality code indicative of the detected abnormality in the rewritable nonvolatile memory. The second function is configured to store an identification information associated with the M-th item so that the M-th item can be identified from the first to N-th items in the rewritable nonvolatile memory.

Electronic control apparatus having self-diagnosis function

Whether an anomaly occurs in a data-rewritable second nonvolatile memory is determined by comparison between (i) a diagnosis code stored in the second nonvolatile memory and (ii) data contents stored as a diagnosis table in a first nonvolatile memory. The first nonvolatile memory previously stores the diagnosis table for listing diagnosis codes. If the diagnosis codes are appropriately registered in the diagnosis table, it is thereafter unnecessary to take into consideration whether the diagnosis codes are normally stored in the first nonvolatile memory. This configuration requires no further rewriting of information in the first nonvolatile memory unlike other memories, and thus decreases a possibility of an occurrence of an anomaly to garble the information in the first nonvolatile memory in comparison with other memories. Whether an anomaly occurs in the second nonvolatile memory can be thus performed more appropriately.
