A miter saw includes a miter saw for placing a work thereon, a miter saw unit having a saw blade mounted thereon, and a support mechanism for supporting the miter saw unit for rightward and leftward pivotal movement relative to the base. The support mechanism includes a first member on one side of the base and the miter saw unit and a second member on the other side of the base and the miter saw unit. The first member and the second member are pivotable relative to each other about a pivotal axis. A stopper mechanism is disposed between the first member and the second member for holding the miter saw unit in a vertical position. The stopper mechanism includes a first pressing member mounted on the first member, a first biasing member for biasing the first pressing member, and an abutting surface provided on the second member for abutment of the first pressing member. The abutting surface has a first recess formed therein. The pressing member is brought to automatically engage the first recess by the biasing force of the first biasing member when the miter saw unit is pivoted from a laterally pivoted position to the vertical position.

Miter saw

To avoid entanglement when a vertical blind is opened and closed, an attachment member is secured to a lead carrier and engages with an operation shaft. The attachment member is composed of a body having a length half the width of the lead carrier, and a snap detent projects from one end of the body. The body is formed by cutting an upper part of a horizontal cylindrical member and opening outwardly the cut edges of the body. The attachment member is attached to the operation shaft from the underside in an oblique direction such that the body engages with the lower part of the operation shaft and the snap detent snap engages with the upper part of a short jaw. Even when rotary moment is applied to the lead carrier, the attachment member holding the operation shaft counteracts the rotary moment, thereby preventing the lead carrier from rotating.

Vertical blind

A simple attachment structure of the present invention ensures favorable connection of a battery pack with a battery holder in a power-driven tool over a long time period without causing any defective contact. A pair of side slots (47a,47b) as well as a pair of insertion slots (48a,48b) are formed in a connection surface (49) of an upper battery case (20) of a battery pack (10). Electrode terminal assemblies (41a,41b) are set in the side slots (47a,47b) and the insertion slots (48a,48b) to be exposed on the two side faces thereof. A positive spring terminal (64a) and a negative spring terminal (64b) are integrally joined with and supported by a terminal base 61 of a battery holder (60). Each spring terminal (64a,64b) has an insertion element (66a,66b) formed to have a width a little greater than the width of the insertion slot (48a,48b). When the spring terminals (64a,64b) are inserted into the insertion slots (48a,48b), the elasticity of the spring terminals (64a,64b) presses the insertion elements (66a,66b) thereof against the electrode terminal assemblies (41a,41b). This realizes electrical connection of the spring terminals (64a,64b) with the electrode terminal assemblies (41a,41b) and enables the battery pack (10) to be integrally joined with the battery holder (60) of the power-driven tool.

Attachment structure of battery pack to power-driven tools

A fastener driving tool includes a cylinder and a drive piston reciprocally movable within the cylinder. A driver is connected to the drive piston and is operable to drive fasteners when the drive piston is moved in a driving direction. The drive piston defines a gas chamber in the cylinder for accommodating a gas. A drive mechanism is provided for moving the drive piston from a first position to a second position in a direction opposite to the driving direction for compressing the gas within the gas chamber. The drive mechanism is operable to permit movement of the drive piston in the driving direction by the pressure of the gas compressed within the gas chamber when the drive piston reaches the second position.

Fastener driving tool

A blade mounting device is operable for mounting a blade on a movable member of a cutting member which is moved in a predetermined motion for a cutting operation. The blade mounting device includes a pair of claws mounted on the movable member and operable by an operator between a closed position for clamping the blade and an open position for releasing the blade. A first and a second thread mechanism are provided for converting the rotation of the actuation member into an axial movement of the actuation member relative to the movable member and for converting the rotation of the actuation member into an axial movement of the claws relative to the actuation member.

Blade mounting device in cutting tool

The invention provides a quick blade attachment structure For quickly but securely attaching and detaching one or a plurality of blades to and from a mower. A rotary member (3) of a mower (1) includes a blade holder (4) and a support member (5) coaxially attached to the blade holder (4) to allow pivotal movement of the support member (5). A pair of blades (23,23) are supported by ends (9a, 9a) of rimmed pins (9,9) projected from a lower surface (4a) of the blade holder (4). A wave washer (16) is interposed between the support member (5) and a cap (17). When the rotary member (3) is assembled by a clamp screw (18), pressing force of the wave washer (16) allows the support member (5) to be rotated integrally with the blade holder (4). The support member (5) further has a pair of grooves (12). Each groove (12) includes a deeper portion (13) which receives the end (9a) of the rimmed pin (9) through relative rotation of either the blade holder (4) or the support member (5) against the pressing force of the wave washer (16), and a guide element (14) which the end (9a) of the rimmed pin (9) moves along to be eventually released from the support member 5. The structure of the invention allows the pair of blades (23,23) to be quickly and easily attached to and detached from the mower (1) by simple rotation of either the blade holder (4) or the support member (5). The structure of the invention also ensures secure attachment of the blades (23,23) to the mower (1). The grooves (12,12) allow the rimmed pins (9,9) to be smoothly moved along the guide elements (14,14) and securely received by the deeper portions (13,13).
