A supporting body is provided that is able to select a form of support to a display unit in accordance with a user's purpose or preference, an installation environment, or the like. The supporting body supports a display unit including a display section, a first mounting section, and a second mounting section to cause the display unit to stand on a placement surface in a first direction. The display section has a display surface that spreads in each of the first direction and a second direction, and the first mounting section and the second mounting section are disposed side by side in the first direction. The supporting body includes a first supporting unit that is formed detachably on the first mounting section, and a second supporting unit that is formed detachably on the second mounting section.

Supporting body and display apparatus

Provided is a display apparatus having a simple structure suitable for an increase in screen size and a decrease in thickness. The display apparatus includes a display panel, a substrate, and a frame structure. The substrate has an outer circumference end face including a first end face part and a second end face part intersecting the first end face part at a first intersection, a first groove formed on the first end face part and extending in a first direction, and a second groove formed on the second end face part and extending in a second direction. The frame structure holds the display panel and the substrate, and has a cyclic frame part surrounding the substrate and the display panel, a first rib erected on a first part, of the frame part, that is other than a first corner part corresponding to the first intersection and fitted with the first groove, and a second rib erected on a second part, of the frame part, that is other than the first corner part corresponding to the first intersection and fitted with the second groove.

Display apparatus

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a substrate, and a frame structure. The substrate has an outer circumference end face including a first end face part and a second end face part intersecting the first end face part at a first intersection, a first groove formed on the first end face part and extending in a first direction, and a second groove formed on the second end face part and extending in a second direction. The frame structure holds the display panel and the substrate, and has a cyclic frame part surrounding the substrate and the display panel, a first rib erected on a first part of the frame part, and a second rib erected on a second part of the frame part.

A stand on which a flat panel display main body is placed has low-pitched sound speakers built therein and a speaker of the flat panel display main body and the low-pitched sound speakers of the stand are combined together to construct a powerful sound system with large sound volume. The low-pitched sound speakers are located at the back side of the flat panel display main body when the flat panel display main body is placed on the stand. In a flat panel display apparatus composed of the flat panel display main body having the speaker built therein and the stand supporting this flat panel display main body thereon, it is possible to easily realize a powerful sound system using the low-pitched sound speakers (woofers) without requiring any extra space.
