A recording/playback apparatus accommodates a recording medium in a cassette shell and performs recording and/or playback with respect to the recording medium cassette provided with a cassette-side antenna connected to an in-cassette memory. The playback apparatus includes a recording/playback mechanism, a cassette holding member, a cassette passing member and an apparatus side antenna. The apparatus side antenna effects communication through the in-cassette memory and the cassette-side antenna. An electric wave transmission portion is formed in a portion of the cassette holding member opposed to the cassette-side antenna. The apparatus-side antenna is arranged in correspondence with the electric wave transmission portion.

Recording/playback apparatus with electric wave transmission

A recording/playback apparatus which accommodates in a cassette shell a recording medium and which performs recording and/or playback with respect to the recording medium cassette provided with a cassette-side antenna connected to an in-cassette memory recording information regarding recording contents or the like. The apparatus includes an apparatus side antenna for effecting communication through the in-cassette memory and the cassette-side antenna, wherein an electric wave transmission portion is formed in the portion of the cassette holding member opposed to the cassette-side antenna, and wherein the apparatus-side antenna is arranged in correspondence with the electric wave transmission portion.

Recording/playback apparatus

A surface mount antenna is configured by mounting on a board a dielectric material on which electrodes are provided, wherein an antenna element comprises the electrodes having a ground electrode and a feed electrode, and a ground mount pattern connected to the ground electrode of the electrode and a feed mount pattern connected to the feed electrode of the electrode are formed on the board with a predetermined distance in-between. A frequency is adjusted by changing impedance by varying a pattern width of a portion connecting a ground electrode of the electrodes and a GND pattern of a ground side of the board, and an impedance matching is performed by changing capacitance based on dielectric constant of the board by varying area of a surface of a feed pattern at a position where a feed electrode of the electrodes and a feed side of the board are in opposing relation.

A recording/playback apparatus which accommodates in a cassette shell a recording medium and which performs recording and/or playback with respect to the recording medium cassette provided with a cassette-side antenna connected to an in-cassette memory recording information regarding recording contents or the like. The apparatus includes a recording/playback mechanism portion performing recording and/or playback with respect to a recording medium cassette, a cassette holding member which holds the recording medium cassette, which moves between a recording/playback position near the recording/playback apparatus where recording and/or playback is conducted with respect to the recording medium cassette and a cassette passing position spaced apart from the recording/playback mechanism portion where the passing of the recording medium cassette is effected, and at least the portion of which opposed to the cassette-side antenna is formed of a metal, a cassette passing member which moves between a holding position where the recording medium cassette is held by the cassette holding member and an eject position where the recording medium cassette is inserted and detached in a direction crossing the movement path of the cassette holding member, and an apparatus side antenna for effecting communication through the in-cassette memory and the cassette-side antenna, wherein an electric wave transmission portion is formed in the portion of the cassette holding member opposed to the cassette-side antenna, and wherein the apparatus-side antenna is arranged in correspondence with the electric wave transmission portion.

A recording format discriminating apparatus for use on a video tape recorder capable of reproducing a signal recorded on a recording medium in a digital recording format or an analog recording format by one and same head rotary system or a plurality of head rotary systems dedicated to analog recording and digital recording respectively. The apparatus comprises: an amplifier, having a capability of automatically controlling a gain of a signal reproduced by one of the head rotary systems, for amplifying the signal to a predetermined level; a first band extracting circuit for extracting a particular narrow frequency band from the amplified signal; a first comparator and detector for detecting by amplification an output of the first band extracting circuit and comparing the detected output with a first reference value; a second comparator and detector for integrating and holding the comparison result output of the first comparator and detector and then comparing the integrated output with a second reference value; and a recording format discriminating circuit for discriminating the recording format of the signal recorded on the recording medium from the comparison result output of the second comparator and detector.

Video signal processing apparatus

A signal trap device and method for trapping a desired FM signal out of a frequency multiplexed signal where a plurality of FM signals are included in a frequency multiplexed form. A replay signal reproduced from a video cassette tape is supplied directly to a subtracter while being fed to a fixed delay circuit and a variable delay circuit to be delayed therein by a predetermined delay time. The delayed signal is supplied also to the subtracter, which then subtracts the delayed signal from the reproduced replay signal and outputs the result of such subtraction therefrom. The delay time of the fixed delay circuit is set to correspond to the center frequency of the carrier of the desired FM signal to be trapped. Meanwhile the delay time of the variable delay circuit is so set as to correspond to the signal obtained by demodulating the desired FM signal. Thus, the desired FM signal can be trapped properly without any harmful influence on the other FM signal.

A video camera is provided with both a liquid crystal display as well as a smaller conventional eyepiece type viewfinder. Switching means responsive to an opening movement of the liquid crystal display from a closed position are used to automatically and smoothly switch off the viewfinder, switch on the liquid crystal display and to enable a speaker. The liquid crystal display is also used as a cover for relatively infrequently used setting switches and controls.

Video camera with eyepiece and large LCD view finders

A television camera/recorder comprises a television camera unit for converting a scene into corresponding electrical signals, and a VTR for recording the electrical signals provided by the television camera unit and reproducing the recorded electrical signals. The signals reproduced by the VTR are converted into carrier television signals by an internal RF converter, and the carrier television signals are sent to an external television receiver through a first output jack connected by a cord to the external television receiver. The television camera/recorder may be additionally provided with an adapter capable of being detachably connected to a case containing the television camera unit, the VTR unit and the RF converter and provided with a second output jack capable of being connected to the first output jack provided on the case when the adapter is joined to the case.

Television camera/recorder and a system for transmitting signals

A processing circuit for a composite color television signal formed of a chrominance component and a luminance component includes a comb filter of the type including a 1H delay line. In order to process the chrominance component, the comb filter is followed by an operational circuit providing a difference signal representing vertical correlation of the input chrominance component for consecutive line intervals, and a feedback loop circuit for combining the input chrominance component with the feedback difference signal before application to the comb filter. A detecting circuit detects correlation of video information in the luminance component in vertically aligned portions of successive horizontal line intervals, and provides a detecting signal which is used to adjust the feedback loop gain on the feedback loop circuit in accordance with the detecting signal. The processing circuit can further comprise a luminance comb filter including the delay line and an additive combining circuit, which is followed by a subtractive combining circuit and a band pass filter having an input connected to an output of the subtractive combining circuit and an output connected to an input of the latter. This circuit gives the luminance comb filter a flat frequency transfer characteristic. In the detecting circuit, a delay circuit is provided formed of a pre-emphasis circuit, an AM modulator, a delay line, an AGC circuit, an AM detecter, a de-emphasis circuit, and a low pass filter.

Circuits for use with a receiver which notify the operator of a receiving station by means of an audio tone when an opposite station is calling or has ceased transmission. The transition of an opposite station from its transmitting to receiving state or vice versa is detected and a specific change-over sound based upon the detector output is introduced into the principal station's receiver audio amplifier circuits.
