To provide a waterborne curable resin composition that is advantageous for environmental protection measures, can be applied without use of a film-forming assistant and can improve the dispersion stability of the emulsion, and also improve physical properties of the coat such as curability, durability, and stain resistance. A waterborne curable resin composition having an acrylic emulsion produced by emulsion polymerization, wherein the acrylic emulsion contains a curable monomer and/or oligomer in emulsion particles.

The present invention aims to provide a composition for vibration damping materials which provides excellent vibration damping property. The present invention relates to an emulsion composition for vibration damping materials including: a vibration damping modifier including a compound that has 7 or more carbon atoms, a boiling point of 190&#xb0; C. or higher, and at least two ether groups or at least two ester groups in the molecule; and a polymer emulsion.

An object of the present invention is to provide an aqueous resin composition and its uses, wherein the aqueous resin composition combines the blocking resistance and the frost damage resistance and thereby can secure the durability over a long period of time even under circumstances where a severe temperature cycle is present. As a means of achieving this object, the aqueous resin composition according to the present invention is an aqueous resin composition comprising an acrylic resin emulsion and a crosslinking agent as essential components, with the aqueous resin composition being characterized in that, when a coating film is formed from the aqueous resin composition, the formed coating film exhibits an elongation ratio (E (%)) that satisfies a specific relational expression along with the glass transition temperature (Tg(&#xb0; C.)) of the acrylic resin in the emulsion.

Aqueous resin composition and its uses

The present invention provides an acrylic polymer containing no surfactant, having little limitation in the polymer composition and being superior in heat resistance, processing operation performance and fluidity, and also provides use of the polymer and a production process. An acrylic polymer of present invention is obtained by the bulk polymerization, contains an acrylic acid-based monomer unit as a main component in its structure and has a Mn of 1,000 to 1,000,000, a glass transition temperature of -80.degree. C. or higher and a Mw/Mn ratio of 5 or less, and is appropriate for acrylic rubber, a pressure-sensitive adhesive, an alkali-soluble adhesive, an alkali-soluble film, an alkali-soluble injection molding or water ink. This polymer is produced by, in the presence of an inactive gas, carrying out the bulk polymerization of a starting material which contains a monomer component having an acrylic acid-based monomer as a main component and contains a sulfur compound of 0.001 to 20 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the monomer component, and contains a polymerization initiator in the weight of one-third or less based on the sulfur compound.
