An object detection device that detects a corner of an object includes: a transmitter that transmits a search wave; receivers that receive a reflected wave reflected off the corner. The device determines a first path length of the search wave from the transmitter to a first receiver, and uses the positions of the transmitter and the first receiver as focal points to find a first ellipse whose distances from the transmitter and the first receiver add up to the first path length. The device determines a second path length of the search wave from the transmitter to a second receiver, and uses the positions of the transmitter and the second receiver as focal points to find a second ellipse whose distances from the transmitter and the second receiver add up to the second path length. The device finds an intersection point between the first and second ellipses as the corner.

A facility search system includes a mobile communication terminal communicably connected with a server and independently performing a registration process to register a facility visited by a user as a visited facility in the server and an in-vehicle device provided in a vehicle and communicably connected with the mobile communication terminal and performing the registration process in cooperation with the mobile communication terminal. The server provides a visited-facility registration service in which the facility visited by the user is registered as the visited facility. The in-vehicle device acquires a device position indicating a current position of the vehicle, compares the device position with a preliminarily set destination facility position to determine whether the vehicle arrives at the destination facility, and controls the mobile communication terminal to register the destination facility as the visited facility in the server when determining that the vehicle arrives at the destination facility.

An in-vehicle communication system includes: an in-vehicle communication apparatus equipped to a vehicle; a first mobile communication terminal connected in a communicable manner with the in-vehicle communication apparatus; and a second mobile communication terminal connected in a communicable manner with the first mobile communication terminal. The in-vehicle communication apparatus, the first mobile communication terminal, and the second mobile communication terminal each has a cooperative application program for executing multiple contents cooperatively with one another. When a travel determination unit determines that the vehicle is running, the in-vehicle communication apparatus forbids operational input and/or screen output with respect to the predetermined content. The second mobile communication terminal enables operational input and/or screen output with respect to the predetermined content.

An inter-vehicle communication apparatus mounted to a subject vehicle is disclosed. The apparatus includes: reception section receiving information about a peripheral vehicle from the peripheral vehicle; a detection section configured to identify the peripheral vehicle that satisfies a predetermined condition as a same directing peripheral vehicle based on the information about the peripheral vehicle; a determination section configured to determine whether the subject vehicle is one of a lead vehicle and a tail vehicle in a group of vehicles including the subject vehicle and the same directing peripheral vehicle; and a transmission control section configured to control the transmission section based on the determination by the determination section.
