Provided are a particle separation device and a method of separating particles, each of which can easily separate particles for a short time without a great stress to the particles and easily collect the particles thus separated. The particle separation device includes at least: a separation flow path (i) to which a separation fluid and a particle group including two types of particles being different in density are supplied, and (ii) through which the separation fluid flows in a certain direction; a divergence section connected to at least an end of the separation flow path in the certain direction in which the separation fluid flows, a first flow path formed from the divergence section in a rising direction; and a second flow path formed from the divergence section in a falling direction, the separation flow path being formed in a horizontal direction.

Particle separation device and method of separating particles

In the present invention, the fine particle composite process is carried out with the step of reacting fine core particles and a raw material for coating layer by mixing them and continuously supplying a resulting mixture into a micro flow path. The micro flow path is specified to 1-4000 in Reynolds number. With this arrangement, the present invention ensures, in a technology using a reactor having a micro flow path, accurate control of reaction condition, uniformity of coating amount distribution, easy layer formation, and successive production of fine composite particles.

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a micro reactor device that includes a tubular reactor () as a flow path, for allowing reaction species to react in the reactor (). The micro reactor device is manufactured by forming a particle layer () on an inner wall of the reactor (). The particle layer () can be formed by causing a dispersion liquid of particles to flow through the reactor () and drying. In this way, it is possible to provide a method of manufacturing a micro reactor device having an inner wall modified so that the reaction species can react more efficiently, and to provide the micro reactor device.

The invention discloses a novel method for the preparation of a 2-keto carboxylic acid from carbon dioxide by an enzymatic addition reaction with an aldehyde compound. Carbon dioxide, which can be in the form of carbonate ions, is reacted with an aldehyde compound such as acetaldehyde and propionaldehyde under mild reaction conditions in the presence of a decarboxylase to give a 2-keto carboxylic acid such as pyruvic and a 2-ketobutyric acid by a reverse reaction to the enzymatic decarboxylation reaction. The scope of the invention involves contribution to a solution of the environmental problem of global warming due to carbon dioxide as a greenhouse effect gas in the aerospace.
