A rubber boot () is fit on a peripheral surface of a connector housing (). Wires () pulled out of a rear surface of the housing () are folded back midway, and a folded region of the electric wires () is disposed along a peripheral surface of the boot (). In this state, a tightening member () is tightened to the peripheral surface of the boot () to fix the wires () and the housing () together. A positioning portion () for regulating a longitudinal position of the tightening member () is provided on the peripheral surface of the boot (). The phase of the wires () and the housing () become almost equal to each other when the connector is subjected to vibration. Therefore it is possible to prevent the terminal fittings () from vibrating inside the housing ().

Connector

A connector (S) includes a housing () having an insertion hole () formed through three adjacent surfaces of the housings () and communicating with cavities (). A retainer () is inserted into the insertion hole () through an insertion port (A) in a first of the three adjacent surfaces of the housing () and locks terminal fittings (). A front holder () is mounted on the housing () from a front end thereof and has side panels (A) that cover portions of the insertion hole () in the second and third surfaces while leaving the insertion port (A) open. The retainer () slides on inner surfaces of the side panels (A) of the front holder ().

A connector has a first housing () and a second housing () with a receptacle () for receiving the first housing (). A slider () having a cam groove () is mounted in the first housing () for movement normal to connecting directions of the housings (). A cam () projects in the receptacle (), and is movable along the cam groove (). A mold removal hole (A) for molding the cam () is formed in a back wall () of the receptacle (), and a mold removal space (S) is between the cam () and the mold removal hole (A). The slider () includes a deformable portion () that slides in contact with a slider insertion hole () while being deformed during connection of the housings (), and is restored resiliently in the mold removal space (S) when the housings () are connected.

Connector and connector assembly

A lever-type connector () has a housing () for engaging a mating connector (). A lever () is supported rotatably by the housing () and is configured for assisting connection of the connectors (). The lever () has a lever-locking part () with a deformable elastic piece (). A lock () on the elastic piece () engages a receiving portion () on the housing () for holding the lever () in a rotation-prevented state. A release portion () formed separately from the lever-locking part () can be pressed to displace the elastic piece () in a direction for separating the lock () from the receiving portion ().

A connector assembly has first and second housings (). Terminal fittings () are inserted into cavities () of the second housing () and are locked partially by locks formed in the second housing (). A slider () is mounted in second housing () and engages a cam () in the first housing () to generate a cam action that helps to connect the housings (). The slider () has at least one retaining portion () that secondarily locks properly inserted terminal fittings () in the second housing (). An inability to move the slider () provides an indication that at least one terminal fitting () is not inserted properly.

A connector has a retainer () with a housing lock () engageable with a housing () and a terminal lock () cantilevers forward from a bottom side of the housing lock () to lock female terminal fittings (). Restricting portions () are formed on a surface of the terminal lock () to face the housing (). The restricting portions () can contact bottom end surfaces (A) of the opposite side walls of the housing () along the width direction, thus preventing the terminal lock () from entering cavities () to hinder the insertion of the female terminal fittings () when the female terminal fittings () are inserted into the cavities ().

Connector with retainer having means for preventing inclination of the front part

Two support walls () stand at the opposite sides of a rear part of a lock arm () at a rear part of a housing (). Deforming pieces () extending to left and right from a rear end portion of the lock arm () are coupled to the support walls (). The supporting walls () are provided with shake preventing portions () projecting at positions before the deforming pieces (). Thus, one side surface of the lock arm () contacts the shake preventing portion () to restrict shake if the lock arm () shakes in widthwise direction due to the contact of an external matter with the lock arm (), whereby the lock arm () can be protected from a damage or the like. Further, the deforming pieces () have a sufficient length (L) for the lock arm () is made easily deformable.

A retainer () including a pair of side plates () is mounted such that the retainer () crosses over a housing () along width direction and the side plates () bulge out along width direction from side surfaces of the housing (). Protection walls () are formed on the side surfaces of the housing () to project around movable ranges of the side plates () of the retainer (). Thus, inadvertent movement of the retainer () due to the contact of an external matter with the side plates () can be prevented. The protection walls () are formed to define jig insertion holes (). Thus, the side plates () of the retainer () can be disengaged from a full locking position by inserting a jig (J) through the jig insertion holes ().
