A method of producing metallic medical supplies includes supplying a metallic material selected from the group consisting of Ti, a Ti alloy, stainless steel and a Co&#x2014;Cr alloy as a base material; treating the base material by carrying out anodic oxidation treatment in which an acid electrolytic bath or an alkali electrolytic bath is used as an electrolytic solution, and pulsed current having a frequency of 50 to 10,000 Hz is applied to the base material in the electrolytic solution to carry out electrolysis treatment to form a film having micro pores and/or micro unevennesses having a density of 5&#xd7;10/mmor more on a surface of the base material; and carrying out iodine-impregnation treatment to impregnate the film with iodine or iodine compounds, wherein the metallic medical supplies have an antimicrobial activity value of not less than 2 to not more than 4.

Medical supplies and method of producing the same

A method of producing metallic medical supplies includes supplying a metallic material as a base material; treating the base material by carrying out any one of electrochemical treatment, chemical treatment, thermal and/or mechanical treatment or a combination of two or more of these treatments to form a film having micro pores and/or micro unevennesses having a density of 5' 104/mm2 on a surface of the base material; and carrying out iodine-impregnation treatment to impregnate the film with iodine or iodine compounds.

A method of the surface treatment of a porous material which comprises the step of electrolyzing the porous material in an electrolytic bath composed of an aqueous solution of at least one salt selected from the group consisting of alkali metal thiotungstate, alkali metal thioantimonate, alkali metal thiostannate, alkali metal thiocuprate, alkali metal thioarsenate, alkali metal thioaurate, alkali metal thioplatinate, alkali metal thioniobate, alkali metal thiovanadate, alkaline earth metal thiotungstate, alkaline earth metal thioantimonate, alkaline earth metal thiostannate, alkaline earth metal thiocuprate, alkaline earth metal thioarsenate, alkaline earth metal thioaurate, alkaline earth metal thioplatinate, alkaline earth metal thioniobate, alkaline earth metal thiovanadate, ammonium thiotungstate, ammonium thioantimonate, ammonium thiostannate, ammonium thiocuprate, ammonium thioarsenate, ammonium thioaurate, ammonium thioplatinate, ammonium thioniobate and ammonium thiovanadate, to thereby impregnate the porous material with the metallic sulfide. Optionally, the porous material may be immersed alternately in an aqueous solution prepared as described above for the electrolytic bath and an acid aqueous solution after the electrolysis to further impregnate the porous material with the metallic sulfide.

Method of surface treatment of porous material

A method for the surface treatment of anodic oxide film is disclosed which comprises the steps of electrolyzing the porous surface of anodic oxide film of aluminium or aluminium alloy in an aqueous solution of ammonium thiomolybdate, optionally immersing it in an aqueous solution of ammonium thiomolybdate or alkali metal thiomolybdate and in dilute mineral acid or organic acid alternately, and subjecting it to a heat treatment so as to impregnate the micropores of the anodic oxide film with molybdenum sulfide and to fix the molybdenum sulfide therein.

Method for surface treatment of anodic oxide film

A uniform, thick film is formed by applying a powdered metal, alloy, sulfide of metal or glass each particle of which is coated with plastics 1-15% by weight, preferably the particle surfaces having been treated with an aliphatic acid or a silane-type surface-treating agent and the plastics including an organic peroxide, to a substrate by electrostatic powder spraying, fluidized bed coating, electrophoretic deposition, or by electrostatic fluidization, and fixing the layer thus provided on the substrate with heating to such extent that the plastic ingredient is fused or volatilized, to finally produce the desired film. The materials having such films fixed thereon have a wide application for interior building and glass-lining and as material of bearings.
