In a fuel injection valve, a substantially arc-shaped chamfered portion in a substantially arc shape of cross section is formed on an edge of an inner wall portion of each opening end of a corresponding nozzle hole of a nozzle plate to further expand a whole diameter of an injection stream of fuel passed through a plurality of obliquely penetrated nozzle holes. In a manufacturing method for the nozzle plate, circulating a fluid mixed with an abrasive through each nozzle hole is carried out to polish opening ends of the respective nozzle holes which are faced against the external of the fuel injection valve in a form of substantially arc shape of cross section with the abrasive. Furthermore, grinding the respective major surfaces of a punched plate material which becomes the nozzle plate together with vicinities to the respective opening ends of the nozzle holes is carried out.

A nozzle plate is provided with annular step portions each located on the periphery of a nozzle opening rim on a valve seat side, which rises up towards the nozzle opening rim from the radial outside of the nozzle, to form a fuel flow which flows in reverse from the radial outside to collide at an incline with a fuel flow which flows directly into the nozzle.

An apparatus for supplying fuel in an internal combustion engine comprises a mounting bracket mounted on a fuel tank, a fuel pump on the mounting bracket disposed in the fuel tank, a connector pipe on the mounting bracket for connecting the fuel pump to the outside of the fuel tank, an electrical connector on the mounting bracket for connecting the fuel pump to a source of electrical power on the outside of the fuel tank. The mounting bracket has a flange and a fuel pump mounting portion, which are formed in one piece of a synthetic resin. A single mounting bracket design can be adapted for use in several different fuel supply configurations.

Apparatus for supplying fuel in an internal combustion engine

A ceramic heater and a method for producing the ceramic heater. The ceramic heater includes a ceramic heater core formed in a rod shape having a bore extending axially through the heater core. The heater core has a pair of flattened portion near the rear end of the heater core. A conductive heater pattern is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the heater core. The heater pattern includes end portions formed on the respective flattened portions. The ceramic heater also includes a protective layer formed to cover the heater pattern except for the end portions, and flattened conductive terminals formed on the respective end patterns.
