A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to an embodiment includes a gradient coil configured to generate a gradient magnetic field in an image taking space. The gradient coil includes: a first coil member formed by using a first metal that is non-magnetic; and a second coil member connected to the first coil member and formed by using a second metal that is different from the first metal and is non-magnetic.

Magnetic resonance imaging apparatus and gradient coil

A gradient magnetic-field coil according to an embodiment includes multiple units of coil members and a connecting member. In each of the coil members, a coil pattern is formed with a first nonmagnetic metal. The connecting member connects the coil members with each other. Moreover, at least a part of the connecting member is formed with a second nonmagnetic metal that is different from the first nonmagnetic metal.

Gradient magnetic-field coil and magnetic-resonance imaging apparatus

A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to an embodiment includes a static magnetic field magnet, a gradient coil, a bore tube and a sealed space forming unit. The gradient coil is formed to be approximately cylindrical, arranged in a cylinder of the static magnetic field magnet, and adds a gradient magnetic field to the static magnetic field. The bore tube is formed to be approximately cylindrical and arranged in the cylinder of the gradient coil. The sealed space forming unit forms a sealed space enclosing the gradient coil between an inner circumferential side of the static magnetic field magnet and an outer circumferential side of the bore tube. At least a part of at least one of the side ends of the gradient coil does not make contact with the sealed space.

Magnetic resonance imaging apparatus

In one embodiment, a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a gradient coil, a first cooling pipe, and a second cooling pipe. The gradient coil applies a gradient magnetic field onto a subject placed in a static magnetic field. The first cooling pipe is provided in the gradient coil, and circulates a coolant in a certain direction. The second cooling pipe is provided in the gradient coil so as to be in parallel with the first cooling pipe, and circulates a coolant in an opposite direction to a direction in which the first cooling pipe circulates the coolant.

A magnetic resonance apparatus gantry includes a cylindrical static magnet housing which accommodates a static field magnet and in which an opening portion is formed, a cylindrical gradient magnet housing which accommodates a gradient coil, is placed in the opening portion, and is shorter in length in an axial direction than the static magnet housing, and a support unit which supports the gradient magnet housing on the static magnet housing, and includes a first support member mounted on the static magnet housing, a second support member mounted on the gradient magnet housing and supported by the first support member, and an adjustment unit which is placed inside the static magnet housing in the axial direction and adjusts a relative positional relationship between the static magnet housing and the gradient magnet housing by changing the relative positional relationship between the first support member and the second support member.

Magnetic resonance apparatus gantry and magnetic resonance apparatus

A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a bed, a static field magnet, a gradient coil, a liner and a heat transfer material. The bed includes a table-top capable of placing thereon an object. The static field magnet generates a static magnetic field. The gradient coil, formed inside the static field magnet, generates gradient magnetic fields. The liner, provided inside the gradient coil, forms a bore in which the table-top is advanced or retreated. Further, the heat transfer material is attached to the liner.

A gradient magnetic field coil unit includes a main coil layer that has a main coil for generating a gradient magnetic field and is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape. A shield coil layer that is attached to the outside of the main coil layer and has a shield coil for generating a magnetic field which shields a leakage magnetic field from the main coil. A cooling layer is attached between the main coil layer and the shield coil layer and has a plurality of flow paths for refrigerant. The flow paths are arranged in a substantially circumferential shape with the central axis of the main coil layer set to the center thereof, and a plurality of shim tray holding sections which hold a shim tray for a magnetic body.

Gradient magnetic field coil unit, gantry for MRI apparatus, and MRI apparatus

A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus generates an MR signal from an object to be examined by applying a gradient field pulse generated by a gradient field coil and a high-frequency magnetic field pulse generated by a high-frequency coil onto the object in a static field generated by a static field magnet, and reconstructs an image on the basis of the MR signal. The gradient field coil is housed in a sealed vessel. A cable extending from an external power supply and connected to the gradient field coil has predetermined flexibility.

A curved metal plate is adhered to an outer surface of a cylindrical jig of the same shape, the metal plate is cut along the spiral coil winding pattern, the unnecessary metal portion other than the coil winding is peeled off from the jig to leave only the coil winding on the jig, an adhesive is applied on the coil winding, and an insulating sheet is covered over the jig (the coil winding thereon). After the coil winding is adhered to the insulating sheet, the insulating sheet (together with the coil winding) is peeled off from the jig. As a result, a saddle coil adhering the spiral coil winding to the inner side of the curved cylindrical insulating sheet is manufactured. According to such manufacturing method, without requiring huge equipment such as drying furnace, the saddle coil having a desired winding pattern with high precision can be manufactured in a short time and at low cost.
