The present invention relates to a device which is to be utilized at the time of observation of a mixed state or a chemically-combined state of a mixture attained by mixing together trace amounts of gases or trace amounts of liquids or mixing a trace amount of a gas with a trace amount of liquid. A micropumpcomprises a pump structural material having a reaction chamber formed therein; a reaction agentwhich is housed in a reaction chamberand produces a gas of predetermined pressure; reaction initiation meanswhich is disposed beside the reaction agent and causes the reaction agent to produce a gas; and a channelwhich is provided in the pump structural material and guides the gas of predetermined pressure produced by the reaction agent from the reaction chamber to an outlet port. Optical disc drive

A support frame for an optical disk unit where reduction in thickness and/or weight saving can be realized and the optical disk unit are intended to be obtained. In an optical disk drive unit, a support framehas neither upper cover nor bottom cover, and is formed from a frame that continuously encloses both sides and a back of a disk traywithout any cutout portions in order to secure strength, and furthermore, the support frameis manufactured by a die casting method using a metal material such as aluminum material, zinc material, and magnesium material, or by a press method using a metal sheet such as iron sheet, aluminum sheet, and magnesium sheet, or by composite molding using a polymer such as PPS (polyphenylenesulfide), POM (polyacetal), and LCP (liquid crystal polymer) with the metal sheet, or by a forging method using a metal material such as aluminum, thereby strength that prevents the optical disk drive unit as a whole from distorting or deforming during operation or actuation is secured.

A valve unit and a fluid control chip include: a valve chamber having an inlet and an outlet for a fluid; a valve element accommodated in the valve chamber; a piezoelectric element for applying vibrations to the valve chamber; and a driver for driving the piezoelectric element, wherein the piezoelectric element varies the opening by varying a frequency and/or an amplitude of the vibration applied to the valve chamber and by varying the amplitude of the valve element by the varied vibration.
