The objective of this invention is to provide a game controller capable of using synchronizing signals to obtain accurate coordinates of an indicated position. Cables (,) and (,) transfer a video signal from a video output terminal of a main game machine unit and a control signal to a controller terminal. An HV separator (,) separates vertical and horizontal synchronizing signals from the video signal. Light from an aimed-at position is detected by a photosensor (,) provided within a gun (,), and a position computation section (,) obtains the coordinates of the aimed-at position, based on a detection pulse at that point and synchronizing signals from the HV separator (,). The cable (,) is connected to the cable (,) within a connector (,) so that a video signal and control signals are transferred by the cable (,). The video output terminal is connected to a video input terminal and a second game controller by using a connector (,) having male and female terminals (,) and (,). The HV separator (,) could be provided within the gun (,) or within the connector (,).
