A coil component which can secure the insulation and strength of a ferrite core and reserve a winding region sufficiently is provided. By coating a surface of an Mn&#x2014;Zn-based ferrite core with a glass film, this coil component can secure the insulation between the ferrite core and a terminal electrode. Coating with the glass film also ensures the strength of the ferrite core, thereby inhibiting cracks from occurring in boundary parts between a winding core part and flanges. In the coil component, at least one of the thickness of the glass film covering the surface of the winding core part and the thickness of the glass film covering the inner side face of the flange is smaller than the thickness of the glass film in the remaining part. Thus suppressing the thickness of the glass film on the surface of the winding core part and on the inner side face of the flange can sufficiently secure a winding region M.

Coil component

A coil component ensuring adhesive bonding between first and second cores. The coil component also includes an inductive component and a pair of terminal electrodes. The first core has a first adhesion surface. The second core is connected to the first core by an adhesive agent and has a second adhesion surface in confrontation with the first adhesion surface. At least one of the first adhesion surface and the second adhesion surface is formed of a glass surface layer to which the adhesive agent is applied. The inductive component is wound over the first core. The pair of terminal electrodes are provided at one of the first core and the second core. The inductive component has one end portion electrically connected to one of the terminal electrodes and has another end portion electrically connected to remaining one of the terminal electrodes.

A coil component comprises: a core having a winding core portion, and a first flange and a second flange arranged at both ends of the winding core portion; a winding arranged in a region flanked by the first and second flanges, and wound so as to be in contact with the winding core portion; and a cover portion arranged in a region flanked by the first and second flanges, so as to cover the winding. The cover portion has a first cover portion comprising a resin cured product containing a magnetic material; and a second cover portion comprising a non-magnetic material. The second cover portion is interposed at least between the first flange and the first cover portion.

A coil component has a first core with a winding core portion, a second core with a winding core portion, a first coil wound on the winding core portion of the first core, and a second coil wound on the winding core portion of the second core. A part of the first coil is wound on the winding core portion of the second core. The first core and the second core are arranged as magnetically separated from each other.

Coil unit

A coil component having a core including a winding portion, and first and second flanges disposed one on either end of the winding portion, A winding is wound about the winding portion, and first and second terminal electrodes are disposed on the first flange. The first flange has an octagonal shape including a bottom surface, a first peripheral surface, first and third omitted peripheral surfaces disposed one on either side of the first peripheral surface, a second peripheral surface opposing the first peripheral surface, and second and fourth omitted peripheral surfaces disposed one on either side of the second peripheral surface. The first terminal electrode is disposed across the first omitted peripheral surface, a part of the bottom surface in a region connecting the entire first omitted side to the entire third omitted side, and the third omitted peripheral surface. The second terminal electrode is disposed across the second omitted peripheral surface, a part of the bottom surface in a region connecting the entire second omitted side to the entire fourth omitted side, and the fourth omitted peripheral surface. The winding has a first end electrically connected to the first terminal electrode on the first omitted peripheral surface and a second end electrically connected to the second terminal electrode on the second omitted peripheral surface.

Coil component and method and apparatus for producing the same

A coil component has a first coil part and a second coil part, a middle member, and a shield member. Each of the first and second coil parts includes a drum core and a winding. The middle member is located between the first and second coil parts arranged in a state in which axes of winding drums in the respective first and second coil parts are parallel to each other. The shield member is formed at least in part of an outside surface of the winding in each of the first and second coil parts and is a resin containing a magnetic material powder. The magnetic permeability of the middle member is lower than that of the core and the shield member.
