An optical fiber cable includes: a cable body that includes an optical fiber; an external sheath that accommodates the cable body; a protective layer that is disposed between the cable body and the external sheath and that includes a first groove on an inner circumferential surface of the protective layer, wherein the first groove extends along an axial direction of the cable body; and a first ripcord disposed in the first groove and between the cable body and the protective layer.

An optical cable includes: twisted optical fiber units each including a fiber group formed by optical fibers. At least one of the optical fiber units includes a filling that wraps an outer circumference of the fiber group.

Optical cable and optical cable manufacturing method

An optical fiber cable includes a core that includes an assembled plurality of optical fibers; an inner sheath that accommodates the core therein, a pair of tension members that are embedded in the inner sheath and that are disposed on opposite sides of the core, and an outer sheath that covers the inner sheath. The inner sheath is formed with a dividing portion that divides an inner peripheral surface and an outer peripheral surface of the inner sheath in a circumferential direction. The dividing portion extends along a longitudinal direction in which the optical fiber cable extends.

Optical fiber cable and method for manufacturing optical fiber cable

An optical fiber cable includes: a cable body having a core and an inner sheath that accommodates the core; a reinforcing sheet that surrounds the cable body; an outer sheath that accommodates the cable body and the reinforcing sheet; and an outer ripcord that is embedded in the inner sheath. The inner sheath includes a projection that projects outwardly in a radial direction of the optical fiber cable. At least part of the outer ripcord is disposed inside the projection.

An optical fiber cable is provided. The cable includes: an optical fiber core having a central axis; a presser winding covering the optical fiber core; a sheath covering the presser winding; two tension members in the sheath and facing each other with the central axis therebetween; and two rip cords facing each other with the central axis therebetween and being in direct contact with the sheath and the presser winding. The optical fiber core includes a plurality of optical fiber tapes arranged around the central axis and having mutually different stripe ring marks applied thereon. Each optical fiber tapes includes a plurality of optical fibers intermittently adhered to each other.

Method of manufacturing an optical fiber cable

An optical fiber cable includes: a cable main body including a core that includes optical fibers, at least a pair of tension members that face each other with the core interposed therebetween, and an inner sheath that covers the core and the tension members; a cylindrical outer sheath that accommodates the cable main body; a reinforcing sheet provided between the cable main body and the outer sheath; and a rip cord provided between the reinforcing sheet and the cable main body. The reinforcing sheet surrounds an entire circumference of the cable main body, the reinforcing sheet includes an overlapping portion in which portions of the reinforcing sheet overlap each other in a portion in a circumferential direction of the cable main body, and the reinforcing sheet is formed of a metal.
