A shoot of a plant is cultivated under the presence of glutathione, so that the shoot is rooted. It is possible to cultivate the shoot under the presence of glutathione by use of a rooting medium including glutathione or by contacting a solution including glutathione with the shoot. Oxidized glutathione is preferably used as glutathione. By promoting rooting of the shoot of the plant, a rooting rate of the shoot of the plant is improved. This improves productivity of a clone seedling.

Disclosed herein is an electrorheological fluid damping control system. The suspension control system is comprised of a transformer and a rectifier circuit, which is electrically connected to a secondary winding of the transformer and is provided with capacitors. A capacitive load is electrically connected to output terminals of the rectifier circuit. When voltage to be applied across the capacitive load is cut off, electric charges stored in the capacitors and in a capacitive component of the capacitive load are discharged through a resistive component of the capacitive load. The capacitance of each capacitor is determined such that a discharge time constant of a circuit comprised of tile capacitors and the capacitive load is a predetermined value or less.

Electrorheological fluid damping control system having high voltage

In order to develop sufficient vibration damping performance and effectively prevent transmission of goading vibrations and others in a vibration damping device using an electrorheological fluid, if the moving directions of vibration input side member and vibration output side member of the device are opposite to each other, a voltage applied to electrodes in the device is increased to increase the viscosity of the electrorheological fluid, while if absolute value of vibration acceleration velocity in the vibration input side member exceeds a given value, a voltage applied to the electrodes is always decreased to decrease the viscosity of the fluid.

A vibration damping device comprises two cylindrical and flexible membrane members, a restricted passage constituting member connected at both end portions to these membrane members, two face plates connected at their end portion to the membrane members, a closed chamber defined by these members and face plates, a rigid member connecting both the face plates to each other at inside or outside of the closed chamber, a fluid filled in the closed chamber, and a fastening member disposed at each side of the restricted passage constituting member and the face plate.

Vibration damping device

A height sensor comprises a pair of light-emitting elements disposed at positions spaced at different distances from a surface desired to be measured, the elements alternately emitting light rays, and a light-receiving element for receiving a light ray generated from each light-emitting element and reflected by the measured surface, the element producing a signal corresponding to the quantity of light received. The signal outputted from the light-receiving element is logarithmically converted by a logarithmic converter circuit. The output thereof thus has its direct current components removed by a filter. The value, covering from one peak to another peak, of the remaining alternating current components is equal to the value obtained by subtracting a logarithmically converted value of the signal outputted from the light-receiving element when causing one light-emitting element to give forth a light ray, from a logarithmically converted value of the signal outputted from the light-receiving element when causing the other light-emitting element to give forth a light ray. By rectifying this filter output, it is possible to detect the height up to the measured surface without being influenced by dirt on the measured surface upon the output of the light-receiving element.
