A vehicular passenger detection system includes a load detection device configured to detect a load that acts upon a seat that is installed upon a vehicle, a passenger seating detection device configured to determine whether or not a passenger is seated upon the seat, in accordance with a result of a detection of the load detection device, and a fault recording device configured to record an information of a fault that has occurred upon either the load detection device or the passenger seating detection device. The fault recording device includes a fault determination device configured to determine whether or not the information of the fault is information of a fault for which a repair is required.

A passenger detecting device includes a plurality of weight sensors, a passenger judging and data updating device and an update forbidding device. The passenger judging and data updating device is capable of judging a passenger on the seat based on the loads detected by the weight sensors and updating information on the passenger. The update forbidding device prevents the passenger judging and data updating device from judging the passenger or prevents the information to be updated when a sum-weight fluctuation amount is not less than a first predetermined threshold value, where the sum-weight fluctuation amount is obtained by summing up weight function amounts which are absolute values of fluctuations of the loads detected by the weight sensors.

Passenger detecting device adapted for motor vehicle

A detection device for passengers includes a passenger judgment unit which has a specified load judgment unit and a stability judgment unit, and a plurality of load sensors disposed on supporting parts of a seat of a vehicle. The passenger judgment unit makes a judgment on a state of a passenger on the seat of the vehicle according to output values of the plurality of load sensors. If a summation of the output values of the plurality of the load sensors is judged to fall into a specified load range of a child-seat by the specified load judgment unit, the passenger judgment unit will make a judgment on whether the child-seat is attached to the seat or not according to a summation of detected output values of the plurality of the load sensors detected when the stability judgment unit judged that the output values of the plurality of the load sensors are in stable state.

A passenger detecting device includes a plurality of weight sensors, a weight-fluctuation monitoring means and a passenger judging and data updating means. The weight sensors are arranged at different positions of a seat for respectively detecting weights acting on the seat of a motor vehicle. The weight-fluctuation monitoring means monitors weight-fluctuation amounts of the plurality of the weight sensors and sum-weight fluctuation amount. The passenger judging and data updating means judges a passenger on the seat to be a large physical-size person or a small physical-size person to update information on the passenger on the seat when the sum-weight fluctuation amount is not less than each of the weight fluctuation amounts, and prevents the information to be updated when at least one of the weight fluctuation amounts is larger than the sum-weight fluctuation amount.

A vehicle passenger detecting device includes a judging circuit (), which judges whether a passenger seated on a seat () is a child or not based on a load acting on each of areas of a seat portion () of the seat for a vehicle, and the judging circuit (), with a fastened sate of a seat belt (), judges whether or not a total load acting on the entire area of the seat portion is within a predetermined range, and when the total load is within the predetermined range, if a front outer load acting on a front outer area is a first threshold or more and the ratio of the front outer load to a front inner load acting on a front inner area is a second threshold or more, or the ratio of both outer loads acting on both of outer areas to both inner loads acting on both of inner areas is a third threshold or more, the judging circuit judges () that a seated passenger is a child.

Vehicle passenger detecting device

Disclosed is a method of estimating the outflow amount for each component of the effluent of a coal liquefying reactor consisting of vessel type reactors ( ) operated under a high temperature and a high pressure. The outflow amount for each component of the effluent is assumed, and the gas-liquid equilibrium composition of the mixture of the composition within the reaction vessel is calculated. Further, the volume flow rates of the gaseous phase and the liquid phase within the reaction vessel are calculated, and the residence time (&tgr; G, &tgr; G, &tgr; G), (&tgr; S, &tgr; S, &tgr; S) of each of the gaseous phase and the liquid phase is calculated on the basis of the gas hold-up within the reaction vessel calculated on the basis of the volume flow rate and the empirical formula. The outflow amount for each component of the effluent is calculated on the basis of the residence time (&tgr; , &tgr;, . . . &tgr;n) within the reaction vessel, the inflow amount for each component of the influent into the reactor, and the primary irreversible reaction rate formula derived from a specified coal liquefying reaction model. The effluent amount for each component assumed first is compared with the effluent amount for each component obtained by calculation, and the series of calculations are repeated until these two effluent amounts for each component coincide with each other within a predetermined range of error.

Method of estimating reaction product in coal liquefying reaction

A sander (1) has a motor (3) with a motor shaft (4) mounted in a bearing box (11) via an eccentric ball bearing (10). Coupled to the bearing box (11) is a pad (12) having a bulged square shape in a horizontal cross section. The sander (1) further includes a skirt (6) with an opening (6a) on which a synthetic (polyurethane rubber) brake ring (17) is mounted. The brake ring (17) comprises an outer peripheral portion (18) and a plurality of contact portions (19) disposed at regular intervals around the outer peripheral portion (18). Each contact portion (19) is bulged toward the center of the brake ring (17) with both ends connected to the outer peripheral portion (18). Also, the contact portions (19) are elastic so as to deform in the radial direction. The contact portions (19) together form a through-hole (21) which is slightly smaller than the bearing box (11) for receiving the bearing box.
