Mechanical seal

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a slide component that can exhibit sealing performance and lubricity regardless of rotating direction. A pair of slide componentsthat slide relative to each other have sliding faces S that slide relative to each other, and a sealed fluid-side peripheryand a leakage-side periphery. The sliding face S of at least one slide componentof the pair of slide componentsincludes: a fluid introduction groovein communication with the sealed fluid-side periphery; a first pressure generation mechanism 12 of which one end is in communication with the fluid introduction grooveand the other end is surrounded by a land portion R; and a second pressure generation mechanism 11 of which one end is in communication with the leakage-side peripheryand the other end is surrounded by an annular land portion R. The fluid introduction grooveand the other endof the first pressure generation mechanisminclude overlapping portions Lp overlapping circumferentially.

Slide component

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a mechanical seal whose axial dimension can be reduced without impairing sealing performance. A mechanical seal capable of preventing charge accumulation on a rotary shaft includes a fixed sealing element which is held at an inner periphery of housing members of machines to be installed and has at least a fixed seal ring, and a rotating sealing element which is held at an outer periphery of a rotary shaft rotatably supported in the housing members and has at least a rotating seal ring. A conductive element is provided between the fixed sealing elementand the rotary shaft or a rotary shaft member fixed to the rotary shaft.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a mechanical seal in which a stationary-side sealing ring can follow the movement of a rotating-side sealing ring to provide reliable sealing properties and by which the entire device can be made compact. A mechanical seal in which a rotating-side sealing ringattached to a shaftand a stationary-side sealing ringattached to a housingslide relative to each other and seal between the housingand the shaftincludes a casewhich is attached to the housingand which contains the stationary-side sealing ring, and a seal memberwhich is disposed between the caseand the stationary-side sealing ring, and the caseincludes a holding partwhich regulates the seal memberfrom moving to both sides in the axial direction thereof.

Provided is a sliding component with less fluid leakage. A sliding component has a pair of sliding members at least one of which has positive pressure generation mechanisms and negative pressure generation mechanisms formed at a sliding surface of the sliding member. The negative pressure generation mechanisms are arranged on a low-pressure fluid side with respect to the positive pressure generation mechanisms. Adjoining two of the negative pressure generation mechanisms in a circumferential direction overlap with each other in a radial direction.

Sliding component

In an exemplary embodiment, a sealing memberis provided between a rotating bodyrotating while whirling within an accommodating chamberpartitioned by a housing and a side wallof the accommodating chamberand has a sliding surface S sliding on the side wall, and the sliding surface S includes a first lubrication mechanismarranged on one side in the longitudinal direction, and a second lubrication mechanismarranged on the other side in the longitudinal direction and exhibiting lubrication performance in a sliding direction different from that of the first lubrication mechanism, thereby improving sealing performance of the sealing member.

Sealing member

In an exemplary embodiment, a sliding component includes an annular stationary side seal ringfixed to the stationary side and an annular rotating side seal ringto be rotated together with a rotating shaft, in which by relatively rotating opposing sealing faces S of the stationary side seal ringand the rotating side seal ring, a silicate-containing sealed fluid present on one side in the radial direction of the relatively rotating sealing faces S is sealed, wherein an amorphous carbon filmformed by using a hydrocarbon gas containing no silicon compound is provided on at least any one of the sealing faces S of the stationary side seal ringand the rotating side seal ring, and content of silicon of the amorphous carbon filmis 1.5 at % or less.

An oil seal member is provided at an outside surface of a member performing whirling motion such as a rotary engine rotor. A sliding face of the oil seal member that slides relatively to a stationary-side member is provided with a step extending circumferentially, and has a relatively high surface formed on one radial side with respect to the step and a relatively low surface on the other radial side. The high surface is provided with pumping grooves to pump oil tending to leak from the high surface side into the low surface side, into the high surface side by sliding relatively to the stationary-side member.

In an exemplary embodiment, a sliding member includes sliding faces S configured to slide in relation to one another, at least one sliding faceof the sliding faces being provided with a plurality of dimpleshaving multi-sided shapes whose edges are formed without interruption. A pair of the edges A-B, A-Cof each of the multi-sided dimples, extending radially on opposite sides of a radial axis R of the sliding member, are sloped to become farther apart as they extend toward a high-pressure fluid side, and an edge B-C, which connects end points B, Con the high-pressure fluid side of the pair of the edges, is formed such that its length is not greater than the lengths of the pair of the edges A-B, A-C. The sliding member can reduce friction between the sliding faces and improve sealing performance regardless of the direction of rotation.

Sliding members

Both conflicting functions of sealing and lubrication of sliding faces are made compatible over an entire period from the time of startup through the time of steady operation. A pair of sliding parts that relatively slide on each other is provided, one of the sliding parts being a stationary-side seal ring, the other of the sliding parts being a rotating-side seal ring, the seal rings each having a sliding face S formed radially for sealing sealed fluid from leaking, at least one of the sliding faces S being provided with fluid introduction groovesconfigured to communicate with a first peripheral edge of the sliding face S and not to communicate with a second peripheral edge, and being provided with dynamic pressure generation grooves configured to communicate with the second peripheral edge of the sliding face S and not to communicate with the first peripheral edge.

In an embodiment, in a sliding component, a sliding face of a stationary-side seal ringhas a fluid circulation groovecommunicating with a high-pressure fluid side via an entrance portionand an exit portion. A rotating-side seal ringhas a larger outer diameter and a smaller inner diameter than the seal ring. A grooveinto which a claw is loosely fitted is provided on an outer periphery of the seal ring. A width of the grooveis smaller than a distance between the portionand thein the circumferential direction. WMR/WSR is set within a range of 0.75&#x3c;WMR/WSR&#x3c;1.4 (WMR is a face width between an inner diameter of the grooveand an inner diameterof the sliding face; WSR is a face width of the sliding face).

Provided is a sliding component having sealing face of one of a pair of sliding parts that slide relative to each other provided with a first pumping groove that is open to the high-pressure fluid side but isolated from the low-pressure fluid side by a seal area and also angled to discharge the fluid toward the high-pressure fluid side by sliding relative to the mating sealing face, as well as a second pumping groove that is open to the low-pressure fluid side but isolated from the high-pressure fluid side by a seal area and also angled to discharge the fluid toward the high-pressure fluid side by sliding relative to the mating sealing face, wherein the low-pressure fluid-side end of the first pumping groove is arranged adjacent to the high-pressure fluid-side end of the second pumping groove.

A sliding component provides both functions of leakage prevention and lubrication in accordance with environments such as the type, temperature, and pressure of a sealed fluid and the sliding speed of a sliding face. Dimplesare provided in one of the sliding faces of a pair of sliding parts that slide relative to each other. Each of the dimpleshas an upstream cavitation formation regiondisposed close to the low-pressure fluid side and a downstream positive pressure generation regiondisposed close to the high-pressure fluid side. The positive pressure generation regionhas a downstream distal end at which a positive pressure relief grooveconnecting the positive pressure generation regionand the high-pressure fluid side is provided, thereby being configured to control the ratio between the size of the cavitation formation regionand the size of the positive pressure generation region
