An apparatus includes a case, a motor, a gear mechanism, a lubrication mechanism, and a cooling mechanism. The motor and the gear mechanism are housed in the case. The gear mechanism includes a specified gear and a first gear. A vertical lower section of the first gear is positioned above a surface of the oil. The lubrication mechanism lubricates the gear mechanism by the oil thrown up by the specified gear. The cooling mechanism includes an oil pump and a pipe. The oil pump and the pipe supply the oil reserved in the case to the motor. The pipe is located above the first gear. The pipe has a hole, and the oil discharged from the hole. The hole is positioned above the first gear. A normal line direction of the hole differs from a vertically downward direction. The first gear does not overlap the normal line direction.

In a vertical through hole of a rotational shaft, a first protrusion portion and a second protrusion portion protruding from an inner peripheral surface of the vertical through hole are provided in an axial direction of the through hole to form a storage area for storing oil, and discharge holes for directly discharging oil flowing over the first protrusion portion into the transaxle casing are provided in parallel with cooling holes.

The electronic control unit configured to set the control mode of the inverter to a second mode and maintain output of the rotary electric machine at user request output on a condition that the electronic control unit determines that there is a possibility of occurrence of the electrolytic corrosion. The second mode is a mode in which occurrence of the electrolytic corrosion is further suppressed compared to the first mode.

A starting system of an engine mounted in a vehicle capable of running using torque output from an electric motor includes a estimation portion that estimates engine speed and output torque of the engine when the engine is driven to realize the power requested by the driver, a comparing portion that compares a time for which the engine continues to be stopped with a first time and a second time that is longer than the first time, a first starting portion that starts the engine when estimated engine speed is greater than first speed and less than second speed, and the estimated output torque is greater than first value and less than second value, and a second starting portion that starts the engine when the time for which the engine continues to be stopped is longer than the second time.

Engine starting system and engine starting method

A control device for an automatic transmission is disclosed wherein a shift point depending on a variation in vehicle acceleration is modified on a real time basis in accordance with not only a corrected result on a shift point depending on piece-to-piece variations of automatic transmissions, but also actual acceleration for shortening a time required for learning with high precision with no need to be matched. Shift point real-time modifying means is provided for modifying the altered shift point based on a value of a ratio between a value of actual engine-rotation acceleration at an upshift-determining timing during a power-on running and a value of reference engine-rotation acceleration obtained by substituting a value of actual engine-rotation acceleration to a value for a reference running state having no impact on acceleration of a vehicle, and a target maximum engine rotation speed.

Control device for automatic transmission

An apparatus and a method for controlling an automatic transmission that executes the learning of a shift point and provides an optimal upshift even when a vehicle is driven under conditions where resistance to driving varies greatly, such as when going up or down a hill or when towing. A reference engine acceleration is calculated and used to estimate a maximum engine rotational speed based on the relationship between the reference engine rotational acceleration and the engine rotational acceleration speed at an shift point. The shift point is corrected based on the deviation between the estimated engine rotational speed and a target maximum engine rotational speed at the shift point.
