The present invention is directed to a vibration insulating assembly including a rubber vibration insulator and metallic members bonded thereto. In particular, the present invention relates to a method for manufacturing the same, by which the quality of the resulting assembly is improved by providing a high bonding strength between the vibration insulator and metallic members. Retainers are provided about the peripheries of the bonding surfaces of the rubber vibration insulator in order to restrict displacement and deformation of the rubber vibration insulator across the bonding surfaces or at the bonding interface with the metallic members and to facilitate its positioning. The presence of the retainers allows for the application of a predetermined pressure on the bonding surfaces to enhance the bonding strength while preventing an undesirable strain from forming in the bonding surface of the rubber vibration insulator. At least one and preferably a plurality of grains or recessed portions are preferably formed in the bonding surfaces of the rubber vibration insulator to be bonded to the metallic members. An adhesive, which is preferably solvent-free, is applied to these bonding surfaces to effect bonding.

Vibration insulating assembly and method for making the same

A radiator support bracket includes a bracket body and a stopper member. The bracket body is uniformly made of resin and has a plate-like base portion to be fixed to the vehicle frame, a transformable arm portion that extends from the base portion, and a support portion that holds the upper side of the radiator. The stopper member can also be made of resin uniformly with the bracket body.

A lightweight damper pulley is provided which can be produced in a simple manner. The damper pulley includes a central portion, a belt retaining portion made of metal plate, and a ring-shaped rubber or elastic member placed therebetween. The central portion includes a cylindrical boss portion to be fixed onto a rotary shaft, a main portion extending radially outwardly from the larger diameter area of the cylindrical boss portion, and a flange bent horizontally from an outer periphery of the main portion. The central portion is integrally formed from a metal plate by press-forming or the like. The flange and the belt retaining portion can have projections which compress the rubber or elastic member to hold it securely in place.

Damper pulley

A method for producing a damper pulley having a boss portion to be press-fitted onto a rotary shaft, an annular main portion extending from the boss portion, a flange portion formed along an outer periphery of the main portion, a ring-shaped damper-mass member located outside the flange portion and a rubber body interposed between the flange portion and the damper-mass member includes the steps of integrally forming the boss portion, the main portion and the flange portion of a metallic plate such that the main portion has a curved section, and has a radial length greater than a straight line distance between the boss portion and the flange portion, placing the rubber body between the flange portion and the damper-mass member, and enlarging the diameter of the flange portion to elongate the main portion having a curved section, thereby the enlarged flange portion presses the rubber body against the damper-mass member.

Method for producing damper pulley

A cylindrical vibration insulator is provided which includes a vibration insulator bushing having an outer cylinder, a rubber member, an inner cylinder, and a bracket for supporting the vibration insulator bushing. The bracket, holding the axial ends of the vibration insulator bushing, is made of sheet-metal and has a pair of plate members which define an opening, and right and left leg portions which have different lengths. The opening and the leg portions are formed on a plate member together by press working. The plate members are opposed to each other, and fixed at the leg portions. As a result, a bracket is made easily and holds the vibration insulator bushing firmly.

A hydraulic damping device is provided including a housing having a first main liquid chamber defined in part by a rubber body which expands and contracts upon input of vibrations in a vertical direction, a second main liquid chamber defined in part by a rubber body which expands and contracts upon input of vibrations in a horizontal direction, and an auxiliary liquid chamber defined in part by a rubber film, which communicates with the first and second main liquid chambers through passageways. Upon input of vibrations in a vertical direction, one or more valves opens the passageway communicating with the first main liquid chamber and closes the passageway communicating with the second main liquid chamber to force a damping liquid filled within the first main liquid chamber to flow into the auxiliary liquid chamber, thereby damping vibrations in a vertical direction. Upon input of vibrations in a horizontal direction, the valve(s) closes the passageway communicating with the first main liquid chamber and opens the passageway communicating with the second main liquid chamber to force the damping liquid within the second main liquid chamber to flow into the auxiliary liquid chamber, thereby damping vibrations in a horizontal direction.

Hydraulic damping device

A cylindrical vibration damping bushing is provided which has an outer cylinder, an inner cylinder coaxially disposed within the outer cylinder, and having a radially outwardly expanded portion in its axially central portion, a pair of vibration damping rubber members press-fitted between the outer cylinder and the inner cylinder from both ends of the outer cylinder, and a pair of inserts, each being made of a resin material having good slidability and embedded in an inside end portion of each vibration damping rubber member so that an inside end surface thereof abut on each other. Each insert has a concave surface having a configuration conforming to that of the spherical outer surface of the expanded portion of the inner cylinder to enable the inserts to be slid on the spherical outer surface of the expanded portion. Each vibration damping rubber member has a seal portion in an outside end portion thereof, which is in air tight contact with the inner cylinder for retaining a lubricant between the concave surface of each insert and the spherical outer surface of the inner cylinder whereby the outer cylinder can be freely rotated about and twistingly rocked on the spherical outer surface of the inner cylinder with a simple construction and reduced production costs.

Cylindrical vibration damping bushing

A bushing has a cylindrical retaining member and an inner cylinder having an expanded portion which radially outwardly expands at its axially central portion to define a spherical outer surface. A pair of ring-shaped inserts, each having a concave inner surface, are slidably disposed in contact with the spherical outer surface of the expanded portion. A pair of outer cylinders are press-fitted into the retaining member from open ends thereof. An inside end surface of each outer cylinder abuts on an outside surface of each insert, thereby pushing each insert toward the expanded portion of the inner cylinder. A pair of cylindrical sealing members are disposed between the outer cylinders and the inner cylinder for providing a seal therebetween. An inside edge of the outer surface of each sealing member is bonded to the inner surface of each outer cylinder, and an outside edge of the inner surface of each sealing member is in sealing engagement with the outer surface of the inner cylinder.

Bushing

A vibration-proof structure for axle beam of a motor vehicle has an axle beam composed of a long cylindrical body of a letter U-shaped section opening downwards, which is disposed in the width direction of the motor vehicle. Axles are provided at both ends of the long cylindrical body, a stabilizer bar is disposed in the center of an interior of the long cylindrical body so as to connect the both ends of the long cylindrical body, and at least one vibration-proof rubber body is interposed between an inner wall of the axle beam and the stabilizer bar from the underside thereof in elastic contact therewith. The vibration-proof rubber body has an engaging member for engaging the vibration-proof rubber body with the axle beam or the stabilizer bar. The vibration-proof rubber body can be easily installed within the axle beam after the assembling of the axle beam and the stabilizer bar. The vibration-proof rubber body inserted between the axle beam and the stabilizer bar can be certainly engaged with the axle beam or the stabilizer bar by means of the engaging member. Accordingly, the vibration-proof rubber body is prevented from dropping due to vibration or the like.

Vibration-proof structure for axle beam of motor vehicle

An elastically damping device for the suspension of an engine comprises a conical first fluid chamber which is formed in the bottom portion of a frustoconical elastically deformable block, and a second fluid chamber which is formed on the upper surface of the block by fixing the open end of an elastically deformable thin sheet thereto. The top portion of the first fluid chamber and the second fluid chamber are interconnected to each other by way of an open passageway which is formed in the block. The first fluid chamber, the second fluid chamber and the open passageway are filled with a liquid. This device is supported on a body of a vehicle by a first supporting plate which is connected to the under surface of the block and the engine is mounted on the block by a second supporting plate which is connected to the upper surface of the block.
