Walk-behind power equipment includes: a main body including front and rear wheels; a work unit provided on the main body; a work motor that drives the work unit; a travel motor that rotates the rear wheel; a handle extending from the main body rearward and upward; a posture detector that detects a rearward tilted state of the main body in which the rear wheel is in contact with a ground and the front wheel is not; and a control unit that drive-controls the work motor and travel motor, wherein when the main body is in the rearward tilted state, the control unit causes a rotational speed of the travel motor to be reduced compared to when the front wheel is in contact with the ground, or causes a rotational speed of the work motor to be reduced compared to when the front wheel is in contact with the ground.

Power equipment

Walk-behind power equipment includes: a main body provided with at least one front wheel and left and right rear wheels and a work unit; travel motors provided for the respective rear wheels; a handle extending from the main body rearward and upward; at least one of a tilt angle detector that detects a tilt angle of the main body and a load detector that detects a downward load applied to the handle; a yaw rate detector that detects a yaw rate; and a control unit that drive-controls the travel motors. The control unit determines whether the main body is in a rearward tilted state based on the tilt angle or the downward load, and if it is determined that the main body is not in the rearward tilted state, performs straight-line travel control to set a rotational speed difference between the travel motors to reduce the yaw rate.

To properly determine a state in which driving of the work unit should be prohibited in power equipment, the power equipment () includes: a main body (); a work unit provided on the main body; a work motor () that drives the work unit; a tilt angle detector () that detects a tilt angle of the main body; and a control unit () that drive-controls the work motor, wherein the control unit performs prohibition control to prohibit driving of the work motor when the tilt angle becomes greater than or equal to a predetermined tilt angle determination value and a change rate of the tilt angle becomes greater than or equal to a predetermined change rate determination value.

Electric power equipment such as a lawn mower is provided with a travel unit driven by a travel motor for propelling the equipment, a work unit driven by a work motor to perform prescribed work such as cutting grass as the equipment travels, and a control unit configured to decrease a rotational speed of the travel motor in response to an increase in a load applied to the work motor, and to increase the rotational speed of the travel motor in response to a decrease in a load applied to the work motor.

Electric power equipment

Electric power equipment such as a lawn mower is provided with a travel unit driven by a travel motor for propelling the equipment, a work unit driven by a work motor to perform prescribed work such as cutting grass as the equipment travels, a battery for powering the motors, and a control unit which is configured to lower a rotational speed of the travel motor according to a decrease in the voltage or the remaining charge of the battery.

In an apparatus for preventing theft of equipment (electric motor) having a prime mover (motor), a prime mover controller, a starter switch that allows the operator to connect/disconnect power from a power source to the prime mover; and an authenticator that acquires ID information from an electronic key through a receiver when the key is brought close thereto by the operator, and permits the controller to start the prime mover when acquired ID information is determined to correspond with authentication ID information, the starter switch is made of electrode pair that is sensitive to electrostatic capacitance, and the starter switch and the receiver are installed together on an electronic circuit board, thereby achieving the smaller structure of the apparatus.

Antitheft apparatus for equipment with prime mover

In an antitheft system for preventing an equipment comprising moving objects such as electric vehicles or operating machine such as lawnmower from theft, an electronic key is prepared to be carried by an operator of the equipment and stores authenticating data for identifying the operator who carries the electronic key. An authenticator is installed at the equipment and performs authentication check as to whether the electronic key is an authorized key using stored key-checking data, when the authenticating data is outputted from the electronic key, whereas an electronic key copier is provided separately from the equipment and copies the electronic key, thereby enabling to make a copy of the electronic key without activating equipment, while ensuring to prevent the equipment from theft.

Antitheft system

In an apparatus for preventing theft of equipment such as outboard motor having a prime mover (engine), a prime mover controller and an authenticator () that acquires ID information from an electronic key when the key is brought close thereto by an operator and gives a permission to the prime mover controller to start the prime mover when acquired ID information is determined to correspond with authentication ID information, the permission was given is stored, and the authenticator determines whether the information is stored each time when activated (S), and gives the permission to the prime mover controller immediately when it is determined that it is stored (S), thereby enabling to easily restart the prime mover without authentication operation.

In an apparatus for preventing theft of plural, such as two, outboard motors (F,S) adapted to be mounted on a boat, each of the outboard motors having an engine (F,S), an engine controller (F,S), and an authenticator (F,S) that acquires ID information (A, B) from an electronic key (F,S) when the key is brought close thereto by an operator, and gives permission to the engine controller to start the engine when the acquired ID information corresponds with the authentication ID information, and communicates with the engine controller of other outboard motor to notify that the permission to start the engine was given, thereby enabling the operator to easily start the outboard motors installed on one boat and having their respective authenticators.

Outboard motor antitheft apparatus

In an apparatus for preventing theft of equipment (electric wheelchair) having a prime mover (electric motor), a prime mover controller, and an authenticator that acquires ID information from an electronic key when the key is brought close thereto by an operator, determines whether the acquired ID information corresponds with authentication ID information, and permits the controller to start the prime mover when the acquired ID information is determined to correspond with authentication ID information, the controller stores operating history of the equipment, and the authenticator acquires the history from the controller when the key is brought close thereto and transmits the acquired history to the key when the key is brought close thereto, thereby making it easy to acquire the operating history of the equipment.

In an apparatus for preventing theft of equipment having a prime mover, an prime mover controller, and an authenticator that acquires ID information from an electronic key when the key is brought close thereto by an operator, and permits the prime mover controller to start the prime mover when the acquired ID information is determined to correspond with authentication ID information, data indicating a number of times the key is updated is included in the ID information, and the authenticator determines whether the number of times indicated in the data is greater than that in the authentication ID information, and when the number of times indicated in the data is greater than that in the authentication ID information, updates the authentication ID information such that it is equal to the number of times indicated in the data, thereby enabling to easily update authentication ID information of the equipment.

In a system for preventing an equipment such as lawnmower from theft, there are equipped with an internal combustion engine that is mounted on the equipment and is equipped with a generator that generates electric operating power when the engine is operated, a recoil starter to be manipulatable by an operator to operate the engine, an electronic key that is adapted to be carried by the operator and stores authenticating data for identifying the operator who carries the electronic key; and an authenticator that is installed at the equipment and performs authentication check as to whether the electronic key is an authorized key using stored key-checking data, when the authenticating data is outputted from the electronic key. In the system, the authenticator performs the authentication check when the electric operating power is supplied from the generator, thereby enabling to be installed in battery-less equipment and ensure to prevent the equipment from theft.
