A low-cost electrochemical capacitor is provided which has high capacity and excellent charging and discharging characteristics, simultaneously has excellent safety and reliability, and has the basic performance as a capacitor, achieved in that between a negative electrode and a positive electrode, a solution of a specific polyether copolymer, an inorganic or organic filler, and an electrolyte salt is selected as appropriate as the electrolyte and is held between the two electrodes. This low-cost electrochemical capacitor has the basic performance of a capacitor, has high capacity and excellent charging and discharging characteristics, and simultaneously has excellent safety and reliability.

Electrochemical capacitor

A low-cost electrochemical capacitor is provided which has high capacity and excellent charging and discharging characteristics, simultaneously has excellent safety and reliability, and has the basic performance as a capacitor, achieved in that, as the electrolyte between a negative electrode and a positive electrode, a solution of an ambient temperature molten salt and a specific polyether copolymer is allowed to gel using a specific photoreaction initiator and is held between the two electrodes. This low-cost electrochemical capacitor has the basic performance of a capacitor, has high capacity and excellent charging and discharging characteristics without use of a separator, and simultaneously has excellent safety and reliability.

A polymer electrolyte composition characterized by comprising: (1) a crosslinked material of a polyether binary copolymer which has a main chain comprising repeating units represented by the formula (i) and crosslinking units represented by the formula (ii) and which has a weight-average molecular weight of 10to 10, (2) an electrolyte solution comprising an aprotic organic solvent, (3) an additive, as an optical ingredient, which comprises an ether compound having an ethylene oxide unit, and (4) an electrolyte salt compound comprising a lithium salt compound. The composition is excellent in liquid retention and ionic conductivity, is usable in a wide temperature range, and has excellent electrochemical properties.

Crosslinked polymer electrolyte and use thereof

A solid polymer electrolyte containing (I) a crosslinked material obtainable by crosslinking a composition containing (i) a polyether copolymer having a weight-average molecular weight within a range from 10 to 10 and having 5 to 95 mol % of repeating unit derived from a glycidyl compound, and 95 to 5 mol % of repeating unit derived from ethylene oxide, (ii) a crosslinking agent selected from organic peroxides and azo compounds, and (iii) a crosslinking aid which is an organic compound having a carbon-carbon double bond and an imide group, (II) an electrolyte salt compound, and (III) a plasticizer, is excellent in mechanical properties and ionic conductivity.

In pulling a single crystal by CZ method, stable pulling up is carried out in a pulling rate as fast as possible while a crystal deformation is controlled to an aimed value and density of grown-in defects is suppressed to a value below an upper limit value. As an index of deformation of the single crystal from a perfect circle, the aimed value of the crystal deformation is previously determined. The upper limit value of a pulling rate necessary to suppress a defect density to an allowable range is previously calculated from distribution of grown-in defects in the crystal section, the single crystal is pulled up according to a predetermined pulling rate, and then deviation of the achieved value from the aimed value of the crystal deformation in pulling is calculated. The deviation is converted to a correction of the pulling rate. This correction is added to a set value of the pulling rate in the pulling and the result is used as a temporary set value of the pulling rate in the next pulling. The temporary set value is compared with the upper limit value of the above described pulling rate and the smaller value is determined as the pulling rate in the next runs.

Method for producing single crystal

An object of the present invention is to provide a method of obtaining high-purity sulfur-containing organosilicon compounds having polysulfide structure in a simple manner without treatment at high temperatures or under vacuum. According to the present invention, sulfur-containing organosilicon compounds represented by the formula (R.sup.1 --O).sub.3 --Si--R.sup.2 --S.sub.x --R.sup.2 --Si--(O--R.sup.1).sub.3 is obtained by reacting sulfur, an alkali metal and halogenoalkoxysilane represented by the formula (R.sup.1 --O).sub.3 --Si--R.sup.2 --X (wherein R.sup.1 is a monovalent C.sub.1-5 hydrocarbon, R.sup.2 is a divalent C.sub.1-9 hydrocarbon, X is a halogen, and x is an integral number of 1 to 8).
