A secondary battery includes an anode for a secondary battery, a cathode which absorbs and discharges lithium ions, and an electrolyte which is placed between the anode for the secondary battery and the cathode. The anode for the secondary battery includes an anode active material layer which absorbs and discharges lithium ions, the anode active material layer including a first layer including carbon as a chief ingredient, and a second layer including at least one first element having a theoretical capacity greater than a theoretical capacity of graphite, and at least one second element which has a theoretical capacity equal to or less than the theoretical capacity of graphite. The second layer includes particles, and the particles include the first element and the second element.

Anode for secondary battery and secondary battery using the same

Since a first layer (a carbon layer) whose chief ingredient is carbon and a second layer (Li absorbing layer) containing particles having a theoretical capacity greater than that of graphite are formed on anode collector, high capacity and high operation voltage can be realized. Since a element having a theoretical capacity equal to or less than that of graphite is added to the particles constituting this second layer, expansion and contraction of volume according to the charge and discharge are suppressed. This enables capacity deterioration to be suppressed even though cycles go on.

Film-sealed non-aqueous electrolyte battery with improved surface-treated lead terminal

A lithium secondary battery in the present invention includes as a negative electrode a lithium alloy, lithium metal formed on a conductive substrate by vacuum film-forming, or the lithium metal having a hydrophobic material layer formed on a surface of an amorphous metallic lithium. Such a lithium secondary battery gives satisfaction with no dendrite formation and long cycle life.

A secondary battery including an electricity generating element, which includes at least a positive electrode implemented by a lithium-manganese compound oxide, a negative electrode, an electrolyte and a separator, and films encasing the electricity generating element is disclosed. Explosion-resistant large capacitive lithium ion secondary battery

There is provided a method of fabricating an electrode used for a prismatic cell, including the steps of (a) winding an electrode sheet around a core, the electrode sheet comprising a positive electrode in the form of a sheet, a negative electrode in the form of a sheet, and an insulating sheet sandwiched between the positive and negative electrodes, (b) pulling out the core to thereby form a wound electrode sheet deposition, (c) heating the wound electrode sheet deposition at a temperature equal to or lower than a melting temperature of the insulating sheet for 30 minutes or smaller, and (d) compressing the wound electrode sheet deposition with a uniaxial pressure to thereby flatten the wound electrode sheet deposition. In accordance with the above-mentioned method, it is possible to increase a cell capacity per a unit volume in a prismatic cell, because the electrode sheet can be wound further half turn or a plurality of times. In addition, it is also possible to increase an efficiency in a charging and discharging cycle, because a gap between the electrodes and the insulating sheet is made smaller, and a space in a center of the wound electrode sheet deposition is also made smaller, ensuring uniform reaction in the electrode.

Method of fabricating an electrode used for a prismatic cell

The invention provides a method of manufacturing a laminated ceramic capacitor, which method includes a step of forming an electrically conductive paste layer on a green sheet composed of lead system composite perovskite oxide. The paste includes a solvent in which are distributed metal powder including at least silver powder, organic titanium compound, organic rhodium compound and organic binder. An amount of titanium in the paste preferably is in the range of 0.02% to 0.09% by weight on the basis of a weight of the metal powder, and an amount of rhodium in the paste preferably is in the range of 0.10% to 0.60% by weight on the basis of a weight of the metal powder.
