An electrically heated branding device for marking articles has an elongated type block with a base end removably secured in a cavity of a holder and a branding indicia on a forward end face which projects from the holder. The type block includes a metallic heat receiving portion having an elongated cavity open at the base end of the type block and in which as fitted a heat generating portion in the form of a ceramic rod. An electric resistance heat generating member having a positive temperature coefficient of resistance is embedded in the forward end portion of the rod and extends transversely of the longitudinal axis thereof for heating the indicia. Lead wires from heat generating member are connected to electrodes removably received in a socket in the cavity.

Electrically heated branding device

An apparatus for determining the rate of discharge from a nozzle for spraying an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide comprises a pressure sensor for detecting the internal pressure of a pipe for supplying the solution to the nozzle under elevated pressure, and means for determining the rate of discharge from the pressure detected by the pressure sensor and the predetermined relationship of the discharge rate of the nozzle with the internal pressure of the pipe.

A branding device for marking articles which includes a holder having a socket cavity and an elongated ceramic type block having one end removably attached to the holder cavity and a branding indicia on a forward end face which projects from the cavity. A ceramic plate is embedded in the forward end of the type block and a heat generating member is printed as an electrically resistive pattern on a surface of the ceramic plate facing the forward, branding indicia end of the type block to heat the branding indicia. The heat generating member is provided as an electric resistance element having a positive temperature coefficient. Lead wires extend from the resistance element and are connected to electrodes received in plug portions of the socket cavity.

Branding device having ceramic type block with embedded electric heating

A control system for a reciprocating linear motion or intermittent motion device. The system includes e.g. programmable control for setting an extent of stroke for an operation member of the device, for setting a period of stroke time for the operation member, and a memory for storing therein in the order of addresses items of velocity data at stroke positions at a specified spacing, the items of velocity data being obtained from a predetermined operation member velocity diagram. When the extent of stroke and time are specified by, the velocities of the operation member are determined based on the specified values and the velocity data in the memory, permitting the operation member to perform a stroke motion by the specified amount for the specified time period at the velocities determined.

Control system for reciprocating linear motion or intermittent motion

A container forming apparatus for packaging machine by which a vertical tube filled with contents is sealed over a required width at a spacing corresponding to the length of one container and is cut at the midportion of the seal width, the apparatus comprising a slide having forming jaws, and a slide lift assembly drivingly movable by a pulse motor.
