Thermal recording material

A 2-diazo-1,2-quinone compound having a substituent group containing an alkyl group which is substituted by at least one fluorine atom is described. This compound has a capacity to change its polarity when exposed to light. The invention also provides an image forming material in which the invention compound is added to at least one of laminated layers. When these laminated layers are exposed to light, the adhesiveness of the compound-containing layer to its adjoining layer is reduced effectively due to the polarity-changing ability of the compound, thus making the easy delamination of the layers possible. This compound is applicable to many instances in which image receiving sheets are used, such as the formation of a multi-color image by a transfer method (a color proof, for example) and the preparation of a printing plate of the delamination development type.

Method of improving delamination in an image forming material utilizing

A recording material which comprises a support having provided thereon capsules containing a photosensitive diazonium salt, and a polymerizable coupler. The recording material can give a predetermined hue when light, pressure, heat and the like are applied alone or in combination. The main advantages of the recording material are that a specific hue can be selected safely, mixing of colors can be avoided, desensitization problem does not occur and a fixed image can be obtained.

Image forming method

Disclosed is a novel recording material comprising an electron-providing colorless dye and an electron-accepting compound. The electron-accepting compound is represented by the following formula (1): ##STR1## wherein X represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an allyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group or a cycloalkyl group; Ar represents an arylene group containing two to five benzene rings, an arylene group condensed with two to five benzene rings or a bisarylene group in which arylene groups are connected to each other via a divalent group; and R represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryloxyalkyl group. The invention also relates to the compounds of formula (1).

A heat-sensitive recording material comprising a support having provided thereon a heat-sensitive color forming layer containing a colorless or slightly colored electron donating dye precursor and an electron accepting compound capable of forming color by the reaction with the electron donating dye precursor, wherein the heat-sensitive color forming layer contains a 1-alkoxyphenoxy-2-aryloxypropane. The recording material exhibits high sensitivity and satisfactory preservation stability.

Heat-sensitive recording material

A heat-sensitive recording material is disclosed, which comprises a support having provided thereon a transparent heat-sensitive layer comprising color former-containing microcapsules and at least one color developer, wherein the color developer contains a compound represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, an alkyl group, or a phenyl group; Ar represents a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group; and n is an integer of from 2 to 10. The heat-sensitive recording material provides a heat-sensitive layer having high sensitivity and good transparency.

An image-forming material and an image recording method for using the same are disclosed. The image-forming material comprises microcapsule and a reducing agent which is present outside of the microcapsules, wherein the microcapsules contain (a) a leuco dye capable of oxidatively developing a color, (b) a photo-oxidizing agent, and (c) a phenolic compound. The image-forming material exhibits excellent image reproducibility, preservability before use, and image preservability.
