In a power supply control apparatus, a control unit configured to turn on a first switch and turn off a second switch when a backup power supply is to be charged, and turn off the first switch and turn on the second switch when electric power is to be supplied from the backup power supply to a backup load. The control unit sets an upper limit value of a state of charge of the backup power supply based on an output voltage to the backup load obtained by subtracting, from an open circuit voltage of the backup power supply, a voltage drop from an internal portion of the backup power supply to an output to a backup load side via the second switch.

Power supply control apparatus

In a power supply control apparatus, a control unit is configured to execute: discharge control of turning off a first switch and turning on a second switch to discharge electric power from a backup power supply to a backup load; first charge control of turning on the first switch and turning off the second switch to charge the backup power supply via a charging DC/DC converter; and second charge control of turning on the first switch and turning on the second switch to charge the backup power supply via the second switch. In charging the backup power supply, the second charge control is executed only in a case in which a current value of a charging current is equal to or greater than a first predetermined value and equal to or less than a second predetermined value that is greater than the first predetermined value.

An electric power distribution system includes a first path through which electric power is supplied to a main load; a second path through which electric power is supplied to the backup load; a third path that connects a second DC/DC converter and a first battery; a fourth path that connects the first battery and the first DC/DC converter in parallel to the main load; and a control unit that controls an output voltage of the second DC/DC converter according to an assumed output capacity derived from travel route information of a navigation system mounted on the vehicle. The assumed output capacity is a capacity that is able to supply electric power used for a driven load in the backup load, and is set to be lower than a threshold battery capacity that is lower than in a fully charged state of the second battery.

Electric power distribution system

A vehicle power supply system includes a power supply path, and an ECU detaching a fault occurrence portion occurring in a part of the power supply path from the power supply path based on a set value lower than a lowest operation voltage of a load and a voltage related to the power supply path. The set value is set within a normal range of the voltage related to the power supply path. The power supply path includes a plurality of electrical connection units connected to the load and a plurality of connection wirings connecting each of the electrical connection units in a loop shape. In a case that a part of voltages related to each of the connection wirings is equal to or less than the set value, the control unit supplies power to the load via another part of the voltages related to each of the connection wirings.

Vehicle power supply system

An electric power distribution system includes a first path through which electric power is supplied from a DC/DC converter to a driven load to be driven in a load group; a second path connected in parallel with the first path and through which electric power is supplied from the battery to the driven load; a third path connected in series with the second path and connecting the DC/DC converter and the battery; a first switching circuit provided in the third path and switched to either ON state or OFF state; and a control unit switching the first switching circuit to either the ON state or the OFF state based on travel route information of a navigation system. The control unit switches the first switching circuit to the ON state according to a peak current of a load current of the driven load derived from the travel route information.

A load control unit for controlling the supply of an electric power to a load from battery in accordance with a pulse-width modulation control includes: a reference voltage generating unit; a first charging/discharging unit; a second charging/discharging unit connected in series to the first charging/discharging unit to charge and discharge in reverse to those of the first charging/discharging unit; a first comparing unit that compares the voltage of the first charging/discharging unit with the reference voltage and switches between the charge and discharge of the first charging/discharging unit to generate a triangle wave; and a second comparing unit that compares a divided voltage by dividing the voltage of the battery with the voltage of the triangle wave generated by the first comparing unit to generate a PWM pulse. The ratio of capacities between the first and second charging/discharging units approximates to the ratio of resistances for obtaining the divided voltage.

Load control unit

A control circuit of a semiconductor device includes: a semiconductor element which supplies an electric power to a load; an over-heat protecting unit having: a temperature detecting section which detects a rise in temperature; a latch section which holds an output of the temperature detecting section; and a gate interrupting section which interrupts an input to a gate of the semiconductor element in accordance with the output of the latch section; a control unit which supplies a PWM signal for turning on/off the semiconductor element; a driving electric power supply unit which supplies a driving electric power for driving the over-heat protecting unit; and a timer unit which allows the driving electric power supply unit to supply the driving electric power for a predetermined period when the input to the gate of the semiconductor element is interrupted and the control unit stops to supply the PWM signal.
