This system utilizes three kinds of metal hydrides, MH1, MH2, and MH3, having the highest, an intermediate, and the lowest equilibrium hydrogen pressures, respectively, in the order mentioned, each kind of metal hydrides being enclosed in two sets of respective metal-hydride containers. While hydrogen flows from the metal hydride MH3 to the metal hydrides MH2 and MH1 in one set, hydrogen flows from the metal hydrides MH2 and MH1 metal hydride MH3 in other set such that the cold heat generated by hydrogen dissociation from the metal hydride MH2 in said other set is utilized to cool the metal hydride MH1 of said one set for efficient hydrogen absorption by the metal hydride MH1, and the cold heat generated by hydrogen dissociation from the metal hydride MH1 of said other set is provided for refrigeration. The two cycles operations are repeated interchangeablly between the two sets, enabling the system to maintain high operating hydrogen pressures associated with exothermic dissociation of hydrogen and allows continuous provision of cold heat for refrigeration at a temperature lower than conventional temperature.

Thermally driven refrigeration system utilizing metal hydrides

The present invention relates to a novel dry-etching method for patterning a metallic film, whose surface is provided with an oxidized film, into an optional configuration by the use of the oxidized film. After drawing etching patterns of the metallic film by irradiating energy beam to the oxidized film formed on the surface of the metallic film, the dry-etching method according to the present invention causes the metallic film to expose itself to either radicals of reactive gas or to etching gas, and then selectively removes the area of metallic film in correspondence to the beam irradiated area of the oxidized film by applying chemical etching, thus eventually allowing the metallic film to be patterned into an optional configuration, without incuring physical damage to the etching face of the metallic film.

Dry-etching method

An automatic body temperature adjuster is disclosed, in which a cold storage material and a coolant medium circulation path for cooling the material are built into the seat and/or the back support of a wheelchair, the coolant medium circulation path being capable of being coupled by coupler means to cold supply means of the heat exchange means. Prior to use of the automatic body temperature adjuster, the cold storage material in the seat and/or back support is cooled, i.e., cold is stored in the material, by operating the cold supply means. When the adjuster is in use, the coupler means may instead be connected to a cold supply section in a cover worn by the user.

A solar heat collecting apparatus which comprises a cylindrical outer member through which solar heat energy may be penetrated, a cylindrical inner member capable of absorbing solar heat energy disposed in said outer member, the inside of said inner member being formed as a passage for a heating medium, and end plates through which the end portions of said inner member are hermetically projected and for hermetically closing the open ends of said outer member, said end plates being provided at the peripheries thereof with annular grooves to be charged with bonding material, said annular grooves having the outer peripheral walls lower than the inner peripheral walls thereof to prevent said bonding material from flowing from the annular grooves toward the centers of said end plates over the inner peripheral walls, thereby to prevent the occurrence of cracks in the solidified bonding material and to subsequently prevent the break of a vacuum formed in the inside of said outer member, whereby the apparatus is improved in reliability and life-time.

A solar heat collecting apparatus which may realize improvements in workability in the manufacturing process, easier handling in transporation and installation, and lower manufacturing and handling costs, and which comprises an outer tube of transparent glass, a heat collecting tube disposed therein of which the inside is formed as a passage for a heating medium, and metallic end plates for hermetically closing the space between said heat collecting tube and each of the end open portions of said outer tube, one of said end plates provided with an exhaust tubulure.
