A surgical support system includes a processor that establishes communication connection with a terminal. The processor performs processing of displaying a display screen on a terminal to present the display screen to a member other than a surgeon among operation team members via the terminal. The display screen includes a live image region in which a live image of surgery conducted by the operation team members is displayed, and a supplementary region in which information regarding a supplementary operation selected by selection and input by a member via a terminal is displayed, the selection being made from a plurality of supplementary operations for management of the surge.

A medical-system control method including a switching-instruction step in which an instruction for switching between two different control states of the bendable section provided at a distal end of the insertion section is received; an angle-difference calculation step in which the difference between the current angle of the bendable section at the time when the instruction is received and the final target angle of the bendable section in the control state after being switched is calculated; a target calculation step in which, when the calculated difference exceeds a predetermined threshold, a minute angle, smaller than the threshold, is added to the current angle to calculate the target angle, and, when the difference is less than or equal to the threshold, the difference is added to the current angle to calculate the target angle; and a driving step in which the bendable section is driven to the calculated target angle.

An electronic endoscope system with high operability and high observing performance capable of driving properly and automatically the light-emitting elements without the size increase in system is provided, even in the case of using a plurality of interchangeable optical adaptors having varied numbers of light-emitting elements. A plurality of optical adaptors having LEDs are detachable to the distal end of an insertion unit of an endoscope. The insertion unit has an inserted electric cable connected to the LEDs. A constant-current circuit of an LED driving circuit flows constant current to the LEDs via the electric cable.
