An electronic device includes: a first housing; a covercapable of covering a portion of the first housingto be covered; and a waterproofing memberplaced around the portion to be covered. The coveris displaceable between a closed position at which the cover covers the portion to be covered and an open position at which the cover opens the portion to be covered. The coveris in contact with the waterproofing memberwhen it is at the closed position. Even if the number of terminals increases, since the waterproofing memberis provided on the first housing, the single waterproofing member can render all of the terminals waterproof. Thus, it is possible to reduce the number of components and to reduce the number of assembling steps.

An electronic device has an opening in a case, a lid member that includes a first lid member having a pair of first engaging sections for putting a lid on the opening at its both ends, a second lid member that has a pair of second engaging sections engaging with the first engaging sections and slides on a main surface of the first lid member, and a projection disposed at an end of the sliding direction of the second lid member. The case has an engaging hole engaging with the projection disposed on the second lid member.

The rotation direction of a lock member is substantially the same as the rotation direction of a second housing when the second housing is rotated from a closed position to an opened position. Thus, when the second housing is in a closed state, a user presses a base in a direction indicated by an arrow D with a finger of a hand, engages the finger with an inner surface of a concave, and displaces the hand in a direction indicated by an arrow B, thereby performing lock cancel of the lock member and a rotation operation of the second housing continuously.

Battery holding mechanism and electronic device

A liquid crystal display apparatus includes an optical sheet for uniformly diffusing light toward a light-emitting face, and a resin frame onto which the optical sheet is attached. The optical sheet has the first fixing portion or the second fixing portion. The optical sheet is attached to the resin frame by fitting the first fixing portion or the second fixing portion to a concavity created at the resin frame at a part corresponding to the first fixing portion or the second fixing portion. At least one notch is created at a boundary area between a display area of the optical sheet and the first fixing portion or the second portion so that deformation in the optical sheet caused by a significant mechanical stress, such as drop impact, does not extend to the display area.
