An image forming apparatus includes: a printer unit that forms an image on a recording sheet; an operation panel for operating and/or setting the printer unit, a side on which the operation panel is provided is defined as a front side; and an ejection space on which the recording sheet ejected from the printer unit is placed. As viewed from the front side, a radius curvature of a first portion that intermediates a right side plane of the printer unit and a front plane of the printer unit is larger than a radius curvature of a second portion that intermediates a left side plane of the printer unit and the front plane of the printer unit.

An image reading apparatus includes an image pickup element that emits an electrical signal based on received light, a document table including a reading window, a document cover, a base plate including a flat portion that opposes the reading window, the base plate being displaceable in a direction of separating from the document cover and a direction of approaching the document cover, a spring portion that is integrally formed with the base plate, and a document presser that presses the document placed on the document table toward the reading window and includes an elastic member that is elastically deformable and is adhered to a reading window side of the base plate. The document cover includes a first pressing portion that conveys force due to a weight of the document cover acting to press the spring portion toward the reading window when the document cover covers the reading window.

An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit that forms an image on a recording sheet; an image reading unit provided above the image forming unit so as to open and close with respect to the image forming unit; an automatic document feeder provided above the image reading unit so as to open and close with respect to the image reading unit; and an open-close regulation mechanism that regulates opening and closing movements of the automatic document feeder so that when the image reading unit is closed with respect to the image forming unit, the automatic document feeder is capable of opening with respect to the image reading unit, and when the image reading unit is opened with respect to the image forming unit, the automatic document feeder is prevented to open with respect to the image reading unit.

A multifunction apparatus is provided with a printer unit having a discharge tray disposed on a top face thereof and a scanner unit disposed on the image recording unit with a space being defined between the image reading unit and the discharge tray. The scanner unit has a casing. The casing is provided in the printer unit rotatably about a rear side of the apparatus in such a fashion as to open a front side of the apparatus. The casing has a recessed part formed at a position of a bottom plate thereof and corresponding to the discharge tray. Thus, a recording sheet removal opening opened on a front side of the apparatus is formed. A reinforcing portion recessed in such a fashion as to be swollen toward an internal space of the casing is formed on the bottom plate having the recessed part.

Multifunction apparatus

When a cover body at a closing position is pulled up with respect to a main body, then a lock lever attached to the cover body abuts against a hook body of the main body, regulating a rattle of the cover body with respect to the main body. When a user lifts up a multi-function peripheral device by grabbing the lock lever, the lock lever comes into engagement with the hook body, thereby preventing the lock lever from opening.
