A surface mount inductor includes a coil including a wound portion and a feeder end portion drawn out from the wound portion, a compact that contains a magnetic powder and that encapsulates the coil, and an external terminal disposed on the compact and connected to the coil. The compact has surfaces including two pressed surfaces, opposing each other in a direction of an axis of the wound portion and formed by being pressed in the direction of the axis, and a non-pressed surface, adjacent to the two surfaces and not pressed. The coil is disposed so that the axis of the wound portion is parallel to a mount surface of the compact. The mount surface is included in the non-pressed surface, the feeder end portion is exposed from the mount surface, and the external terminal is formed on only the non-pressed surface and connected to the feeder end portion.

Surface mount inductor and method for manufacturing the same

A surface mount inductor includes a coil including a winding portion and extension portions that extend from the outer circumference of the winding portion, a molded body which contains a metal magnetic powder and in which the coil is embedded, and outer terminals. The molded body is a rectangular parallelepiped. Each end portion in the longitudinal direction of the principal surface has an outer terminal connected to the extension portion. A resin coating is formed on the molded body except regions in which the outer terminals are provided, and Wis less than W, where the width between ridges opposite to each other in a lateral direction of the principal surface is denoted as Wand the width of each outer terminal in the lateral direction is denoted as W, and neither end in the width direction of each outer terminal is in contact with the ridges.

Surface mount inductor

A tuning fork-type vibrator includes a tuning fork-type vibrating body including a base and legs. The tuning fork-type vibrating body includes two piezoelectric substrates, an intermediate electrode, surface electrodes and an entire-surface electrode that are laminated together. The surface electrodes are separated by separating portions extending from the base to each of the legs. The widths of the separating portions at a point of connection to the circuit board are wider than those of the separating portions at other points. The separating portions are formed by dividing an electrode provided on the entire surface of a piezoelectric substrate in the vibrating body with a dicer or by laser radiation or etching.

Tuning fork-type vibrator, tuning fork-type vibrator manufacturing method, and angular velocity sensor

A tuning fork vibrator includes a vibrating body having the shape of a tuning fork as a whole. The vibrating body includes legs having a meandering shape and a base coupled to an end of the legs. A support is formed so as to extend between the legs from the base. Two electrodes arranged separately in the width direction are formed on one of the legs, and two electrodes arranged separately in the width direction are formed on the other of the legs. The outermost electrodes on each of the legs are connected to a connection electrode formed on the base. The connection electrode is formed so as to extend toward the support. The innermost electrodes on each of the legs are formed so as to extend toward the support through the base. A common electrode is formed on a second principal surface of the vibrating body. A vibratory gyroscope can be formed using the tuning fork vibrator.

Tuning fork vibrator and vibratory gyroscope using the same

A vibrating gyroscope includes a tuning-fork vibrator having a base and legs. The vibrator is joined to a support plate by conductive adhesive members. The support plate includes an outer frame portion in which a joining portion is provided at a location near a longitudinal end of the outer frame portion. The joining portion is supported by a first support portion in the air gap portion. The width of the first support portion is less than the width of the joining portion. The vibrator is joined to the joining portion of the support plate.

Vibrating gyroscope

A tuning bar vibrator formed on a substrate and including a vibrating body. The vibrating body is formed into a meander shape as a whole, and a middle vibrating reed is used as a first detection unit. At one end side of the vibrating body, two sensing electrodes are formed and connected respectively to two extended electrodes. A further sensing electrode and a common electrode are formed on a first principal surface of the first detection unit. A common electrode formed on a second principal surface of the vibrating body is connected to the common electrode on the first principal surface via a through-hole. The further sensing electrode and the common electrode are connected respectively to another set of extended electrodes. A tuning bar vibrator that is small in size, may be reduced in profile and may be used as a vibrating gyroscope having a desirable detection sensitivity, and a vibrating gyroscope using the tuning bar vibrator are obtained.

Tuning bar vibrator and vibrating gyroscope using the same

In a vibrator support structure, a vibrator is supported on a substrate through support pins, substrate connection portions of the support pins and pin connection portions of the substrate are joined through conductive adhesive which is made of a resin including conductive filler and has a pencil hardness of about 4H or less, and the conductive adhesive has a thickness which can buffer vibrations and impacts propagated through the support pins.

Vibrator support structure and manufacturing method for the support structure

A vibratory gyro piezoelectric vibrator includes a vibrating body having a laminate of piezoelectric layers stacked on each other in a lamination direction, and having a length extending in the lamination direction. The vibratory gyro piezoelectric vibrator uses longitudinal piezoelectric effects of the piezoelectric layers and operates such that a first bending vibration is excited in which the vibrating body bends in a width direction of the vibrating body substantially perpendicular to the lamination direction of the piezoelectric layers, and a Coriolis force is caused in response to the first bending vibration such that a second bending vibration is excited in which the vibrating body bends in a thickness direction of the vibrating body substantially perpendicular to both of the lamination direction and the vibration direction of the first bending vibration.

Vibratory gyro piezoelectric vibrator

An angular velocity sensor includes a tuning-fork resonator having prongs, a supporting substrate having the tuning-fork resonator mounted thereon, and a casing accommodating the tuning-fork resonator. The base ends of the prongs constitute a base. A principal surface of the supporting substrate and a principal surface of the tuning-fork resonator are opposed to each other. The supporting substrate supports the prongs at the base so that the prongs vibrate. The supporting substrate has a first slit. The first slit is open at one end substantially in the center of a side that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the prongs, extends in the longitudinal direction of the prongs, and divides the supporting substrate into substrate components corresponding to the prongs. The substrate components are fixed to the casing at non-vibrating portions present in two sides extending in the longitudinal direction of the prongs.

Angular velocity sensor

A vibrator that produces bending vibration with both ends unsupported is mounted on one principal surface of a mounting board, and a driving-and-detecting circuit component is also mounted to cross over an antinode center line of bending vibration of the mounting board due to resonance. The original self-resonance frequency of bending vibration of the mounting board itself is lower than the frequency of bending vibration of the vibrator. The modified self-resonance frequency of bending vibration of the mounting board when the vibrator and the driving-and-detecting circuit component are mounted thereon is higher than the original self-resonance frequency, and does not coincide with the frequency of bending vibration of the vibrator.

Vibrating gyroscope and electronic device using the same

A vibration gyro which is a sensor circuit module includes a packaging substrate, a vibrator mounted on the substrate, a chip type semiconductor element mounted by flip-chip bonding, a chip element, and a cover. The portion of the end surfaces of the packaging substrate in which no through-hole terminals are formed is coated with a light-shielding coating material which is a light-transmission-stopping member. Preferably, the color of the light-shielding coating material is as dark as possible, and is black, if possible.

Sensor circuit module and electronic device using the same

A vibrating gyroscope includes supporting members that are fixed to the vicinities of two node points of a bar-shaped vibrator. The supporting members extend from the positions at which they are fixed to the vibrator in the widthwise direction of the vibrator. The supporting members also include intermediate portions positioned on the plane (neutral plane) which is substantially parallel to first and second main surfaces of the vibrator and which passes through the approximate center of the thickness direction.

Vibrating gyroscope and electronic unit using the same

In order to provide a vibrating gyroscope in which variations in the angular-velocity detection sensitivity are not likely to occur even when sharp temperature changes occur, a vibrator for a vibrating gyroscope includes, on one main surface, a first detection electrode and a second detection electrode, which output a signal containing an angular-velocity signal, wherein a groove having a predetermined depth is provided between the first detection electrode and the second detection electrode. As for a vibrator for a vibrating gyroscope of the present invention, since the difference between the resonance frequency and the anti-resonance frequency in a bending vibration mode in the driving direction becomes closer to the difference between the resonance frequency and the anti-resonance frequency in a bending vibration mode in the detection direction, variations in the angular-velocity detection sensitivity are not likely to occur even when sharp temperature changes are given.

Vibrator for a vibrating gyroscope, vibrating gyroscope using the vibrator, and electronic apparatus using the vibrating gyroscope

The present invention provides a piezoelectric vibrator, in which there is no significant change in the characteristics even when depole occurs due to heat shock and the like. The piezoelectric vibrator includes a first piezoelectric substrate having split electrodes formed on one main surface thereof and a second piezoelectric substrate having a common electrode formed on one main surface thereof. The remaining main surfaces of both piezoelectric substrates are bonded to each other via an intermediate electrode. The material of the first piezoelectric substrate differs from the material of the second piezoelectric substrate. As a result, the difference (longitudinal DF) between a resonant frequency and an anti-resonant frequency in a longitudinal vibration of the piezoelectric vibrator substantially coincides with the difference (transverse DF) between a resonant frequency and an anti-resonant frequency in a transverse vibration thereof.
