The internal combustion engine includes a fuel injection valve, a cylinder into which the fuel injected by the fuel injection valve is introduced, an exhaust passage through which the exhaust generated by the combustion of the fuel in the cylinder flows, a catalyst installed in the exhaust passage, an upstream air-fuel ratio sensor disposed upstream of the catalyst in the exhaust passage, and a downstream air-fuel ratio sensor disposed downstream of the catalyst in the exhaust passage. The processing circuit calculates a detection value difference which is a difference between detection values of the two air-fuel ratio sensors when the warm-up of the catalyst is completed. When the detection value difference is in the predetermined detection value difference range, the processing circuit lowers the warm-up completion temperature as compared with a case where the detection value difference is not in the detection value difference range.

When the element temperature of the air-fuel ratio sensor becomes equal to or higher than the activation temperature, the electronic control unit starts the detection of the air-fuel ratio based on the sensor output of the air-fuel ratio sensor and the air-fuel ratio feedback control based on the detection result. The electronic control unit calculates the air-fuel ratio detection value by setting the gain of the air-fuel ratio detection value with respect to the sensor output when the sensor output is a value indicating the air-fuel ratio richer than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio to a value smaller than that after the elapse of the synchronization period from the start of the air-fuel ratio until the element temperature becomes equal to or higher than the predetermined desorption convergence temperature.

Control device for internal combustion engine

There is provided a control device for an internal combustion engine including a variable-capacity turbocharger, which has a turbine with a variable nozzle and an actuator that controls the variable nozzle opening degree, and a throttle disposed in an intake passage. The control device includes an electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU include a first control mode as a control mode for the intake air amount. When an air amount range on the high flow rate side including a maximum value of a required air amount for the internal combustion engine is defined as a high air amount range, the ECU controls the actuator and the throttle so as to increase the throttle opening degree while maintaining the variable nozzle at a fully-closed opening degree as the required air amount is increased in the high air amount range on the side of the maximum value in the first control mode.

A control system includes an internal combustion engine and a control device. The internal combustion engine includes a pressurization device. The pressurization device includes a housing having a cylindrical shape, a piston, a pressurization chamber, a piston chamber, a pressurization control chamber, and a switching device configured to selectively connect the pressurization control chamber with a high pressure fuel channel or a low pressure fuel channel. The control device estimates the temperature of the low pressure fuel channel. When the estimated temperature of the low pressure fuel channel is lower than the temperature of the pressurization device, and the temperature of the pressurization device is higher than a predetermined cooling request temperature, the control device controls the switching device to connect the pressurization control chamber with the low pressure fuel channel.

Control system including control device for internal combustion engine

A post injection is utilized in a more effective manner. In an internal combustion engine which is provided with a fuel injection valve for injecting fuel into a cylinder of the internal combustion engine, in cases where a post injection is carried out after a main injection of fuel from the fuel injection valve, when a rotation speed of the internal combustion engine is equal to or more than a first predetermined speed, a penetration force of fuel in the post injection is made larger than a penetration force of fuel in the main injection, whereas when the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine is less than a second predetermined speed which is equal to or less than the first predetermined speed, the penetration force of fuel in the post injection is made smaller than the penetration force of fuel in the main injection.

The pressure of the fuel is increased at a constant pressure intensification ratio after operating the pressure reducing device so that the pressure difference between the fuel passage and the control chamber after the operation has a value smaller than the predetermined pressure difference, if the required pressure of the fuel is higher than a reference pressure and lower than a pressure obtained by multiplying the reference pressure by a constant pressure intensification ratio.

Fuel injection apparatus for internal combustion engine

An internal combustion engine includes a plurality of cylinders, a plurality of fuel injection valves, a control chamber provided in each of the fuel injection valves. A control system for the internal combustion engine includes an electronic control unit which is configured to (i) reduce a pressure of the fuel in the control chamber to be lower than a pressure of the fuel in the fuel passage connected to the control chamber, in each of the fuel injection valves, (ii) reduce the pressure of the fuel such that a first pressure difference is equal to or larger than a predetermined pressure difference, so as to move the needle in a direction to open the injection holes, and (iii) reduce the reference pressure by reducing the pressure of the fuel in a second injection valve, such that the first pressure difference after operation is smaller than the predetermined pressure difference.

A fuel injection device including an injector that injects fuel into a cylinder of an engine; a fuel injection amount obtaining unit that obtains a fuel injection amount of fuel injected by the injector; a heat generation amount obtaining unit that obtains a heat generation amount of the fuel injected by the injector and ignited; and a control unit that determines that injector abnormality occurs, when determining that a difference between a fuel injection amount obtained by the fuel injection amount obtaining unit and a reference fuel injection amount is within a predetermined range and that a heat generation amount obtained by the heat generation amount obtaining unit is greater than a reference heat generation amount corresponding to the reference fuel injection amount. Accordingly, whether or not injection hole corrosion occurs in the injector can be determined.

A fuel injection apparatus includes: a first obtaining unit that obtains a first index relating to an opening behavior of an injector; a second obtaining unit that obtains at least one of a second index relating to a maximum injection rate of the injector and a third index relating to an injection period; and a calculation unit that determines that injection hole corrosion has occurred in the injector when a first condition relating to the first index is established and at least one of a second condition relating to the second index and a third condition relating to the third index is established.

Fuel injection apparatus and control method thereof

A control device for an internal combustion engine that includes: a first detection unit detecting, as a first parameter, a temperature of a nozzle tip of an injector; and a second detection unit detecting, as a second parameter, a heat quantity of a cylinder head, and executes a dew condensation determination by using at least one of the first parameter and the second parameter, the control device includes: a third detection unit detecting an evaluation value allowing to evaluate a state of the internal combustion engine, a threshold value for selecting which parameter of the first and second parameters is selected being set with respect to the evaluation value, wherein the control device switches a parameter to be used to the first parameter, to the second parameter, or to both the first and second parameters in accordance with the evaluation value when executing the dew condensation determination.

An internal combustion engine comprises a fuel injection valve which has a needle, wherein a valve opening speed of the needle during post injection is raised as compared with a valve opening speed of the needle during main injection if a pressure of the fuel is not more than a first predetermined pressure, while the valve opening speed of the needle during the post injection is lowered as compared with the valve opening speed of the needle during the main injection if the pressure of the fuel is not less than a second predetermined pressure that is a pressure larger than the first predetermined pressure, when a requested post injection fuel amount is larger than an injection amount threshold value.

An internal combustion engine includes a control unit determining the occurrence or non-occurrence of dew condensation in a tip portion of a nozzle based on a nozzle heat receiving amount of an injector and a nozzle tip temperature of the injector at a point in time when ignition is turned OFF and performing nozzle corrosion prevention control when the dew condensation is determined to occur in the nozzle tip portion. The control unit calculates a nozzle tip temperature reduction rate based on the nozzle heat receiving amount, calculates a dew point arrival time based on the reduction rate, and determines the occurrence or non-occurrence of the dew condensation in the nozzle tip portion based on the dew point arrival time.

A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine in the present invention is provided with a fuel injection valve () which is capable of directly injecting fuel into a cylinder, and which includes: a needle valve () that has a seat contact part () at its distal end part; and a nozzle body () that has a seat part () with which the seat contact part () comes into contact, a fuel receiving part () formed downstream of the seat part (), and a plurality of nozzle holes () formed downstream of the seat part (). Control apparatus for internal combustion engine

A fuel injection device is provided with an injection instruction unit that instructs multiple fuel injection valves that inject fuel into respective multiple cylinders of an engine to perform fuel injection while the engine is stopped. The injection instruction unit instructs the multiple fuel injection valves to perform the fuel injection while the engine is stopped on the basis of at least one of an amount of heat from combustion gas with respect to at least one of the multiple fuel injection valves and an amount of heat radiated therefrom.
