A light-emitting device includes: a structure including: a layered body including: a light-emitting element comprising a pair of electrodes, and a light-transmissive member disposed on the light-emitting element; and a light-reflective member covering lateral surfaces of the layered body, in which structure has a first surface at which the pair of electrodes are exposed from the light-reflective member, and a second surface connected to the first surface, the second surface being a surface of the light-reflective member. A pair of first electrically conductive films disposed on the first surface of the structure such that each of the pair of first electrically conductive films is connected to a respective one of the pair of electrodes. A pair of second electrically conductive films disposed on the second surface of the structure, each of the pair of electrically conductive films being continuous with the pair of first electrically conductive films.

Method of manufacturing light-emitting device, light-emitting device, and light source device

A light emitting device includes a light emitting element, lateral walls surrounding the light emitting element, a first light-transmissive member and a light shielding member. The lateral walls includes first to fourth lateral walls. The first and second lateral walls define a first opening therebetween. The second and third lateral walls define a second opening therebetween. The third and fourth lateral walls define a third opening therebetween. The fourth and first lateral walls define a fourth opening therebetween. In the top view, a first straight line passing through the first and third openings extends in a first direction, and a second straight line passing through the second and fourth openings extends in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The first light-transmissive member is arranged on or above the light emitting element and the lateral walls. The light shielding member is arranged on or above the first light-transmissive member.

A method of manufacturing a light-emitting device includes: providing an intermediate structure including: layered bodies in a light-reflective member, a semiconductor layered body, and a light-transmissive member; forming at least one first groove at a first surface of the intermediate structure; forming at least one electrically conductive film, each disposed on the first surface and inside a respective one of the at least one first groove; exposing a portion of the light-reflective member in an inter-electrode region; forming a hole having a width equal to or greater than a width of the at least one first groove and having a depth equal to or greater than a depth of the at least one first groove; and cutting the light-reflective member and the at least one electrically conductive film along the at least one first groove to obtain a plurality of light-emitting devices.

A light emitting device includes: a light emitting element; a first reflecting member containing reflecting particles, and covering the upper surface of a base while exposing a light extraction surface of the light emitting element; a first cover member having a lower concentration of reflecting particles than the first reflecting member and covering the first reflecting member and a portion of lateral surfaces of the light emitting element while exposing the light extraction surface of the light emitting element; a second cover member covering a portion of the lateral surfaces of the light emitting element; a second reflecting member surrounding the second cover member in a top view and contacting the second cover member and the first reflecting member; the second reflecting member having a narrow-width portion being in contact with the first reflecting member and a wide-width portion located above the narrow-width portion in a cross-sectional view.

A light-emitting device in which a resin forming a reflective layer is reduced from creeping up a portion covering the upper surface of a light-emitting element, and a method for manufacturing the same, is disclosed. The light-emitting device includes a substrate, a light-emitting element on the substrate, the light-emitting element having at least one side surface and the upper surface, a fluorescent material layer on the side surface and the upper surface, a light-transmissive layer on the side surface and the upper surface with the fluorescent material layer sandwiched therebetween, and a reflective layer covering the side surface with the fluorescent material layer and the light-transmissive layer sandwiched therebetween, the reflective layer being not disposed on at least the upper surface.

Light-emitting device and method for manufacturing the same

A light emitting device includes a wavelength converting member for absorbing light emitted by an exciting light source and emitting light of a different wavelength. With a wavelength at which the light from the exciting light source has a maximum energy intensity denoted as a first wavelength, a wavelength at which the light from the wavelength converting member has a maximum energy intensity denoted as a second wavelength, a wavelength lying between the first and second wavelengths at which the light from the light emitting device has a minimum energy intensity denoted as a third wavelength, and 650 nm denoted as a fourth wavelength, then the light emitting device has an emission spectrum such that the proportion of the energy intensity at the first wavelength to the energy intensity at the third wavelength is in a range from 100:15 to 100:150, and the proportion of the energy intensity at the first wavelength to the energy intensity at the fourth wavelength is in a range from 100:45 to 100:200.

Light emitting device

An object of the present invention is to provide a light emitting device which emits light of deep yellowish color with high luminance. The light emitting device of the present invention comprises a light emitting element having a peak emission wavelength shorter than 490 nm, a fluorescent material for wavelength conversion which absorbs light from the light emitting element and emits light of a wavelength longer than that of the light from the light emitting element, and a filter which cuts off a part of a mixed light produced by mixing the light of the light emitting element and the light of the fluorescent material, wherein the light transmitted through the filter has a chromaticity coordinate on the chromaticity diagram according to CIE 1931 plotted in a region defined by a first point (x=0.450, y=0.450), a second point (x=0.250, y=0.650), a third point (x=0.350, y=0.750) and a fourth point (x=0.250, y=0.750) and in the region defined by a closed curve consisting of the monochromatic locus and the purple boundary.
