An image forming material is disclosed which comprises an image receiving sheet having been laminated on an imaging sheet, the imaging sheet comprising a support and provided thereon, an image forming layer contacting the image receiving sheet, an image being formed by exposing the material to a high density energy light to reduce adhesion between the image forming layer and the support at exposed portions without substantially changing adhesion between the image forming layer and the image receiving sheet and then peeling the image receiving sheet from the image forming layer to transfer the image forming layer at exposed portions to the image receiving sheet, wherein both surfaces of the image receiving sheet before the lamination have an average surface roughness Ra of 0.05 to 0.4 .mu.m.

Image forming material and image forming method employing the same

An image forming material is disclosed which comprises a support and provided thereon, an image forming layer and an image protective layer in that order, the image forming layer containing a colorant and a first binder resin, and the image protective layer containing fine particles in an amount of 2 to 150 mg/M.sup.2 and a second binder resin and having a thickness of 0.03 to 1.0 .mu.m, wherein an image is formed by exposing the material to a high density energy light to reduce adhesion between the image forming layer and the support and then removing the image forming layer at exposed portions.

An image forming material is disclosed which comprises a support and provided thereon, an image forming layer containing colorant particles and a binder, the image forming layer having an optical density of 3.0 or more per 1 .mu.m thickness of the image forming layer at .lambda.max which is a wavelength giving a maximum transparent density in the spectral absorption wavelength range of 350 to 1200 nm of the image forming layer, wherein an image is formed by removing exposed portions of the image forming layer of the image forming material.

An image forming material is disclosed which comprises a support and provided thereon, an image forming layer containing a colorant, the image forming layer being hardened, wherein an image is formed by imagewise exposing the image forming layer to a high density energy light to reduce an adhesive force between the image forming layer and the support and by removing the exposed portions of the image forming layer of the image forming material.

An IC card in which an IC chip is incorporated between a first and second base boards, comprises an image receiving layer on which an ink image is transferred by a thermal transfer method and a cushion layer provided between the IC chip and the image receiving layer so that the cushion layer smooths irregularity caused by the IC chip and improves a flatness of the image receiving layer.

A method for treating a thermally transferred image is disclosed. The method comprising the steps of (1) thermally transferring an image from the ink layer of a ink sheet which comprises a support and a ink layer comprising a sublimation dye provided on the support, to the surface of an image receiving layer of a image receiving element which comprises a support and a image receiving layer provided on the support, by means of imagewise heating by a first thermal head, and (2) heating the surface of the image receiving layer having the transferred image by a second thermal head through a plastic film contacted to the surface of the image receiving layer.

A mask for forming an image on a photographic print paper includes a mask sheet, a transparent protective layer, and a transparent intermediate layer. The mask sheet includes a transparent base sheet and an opaque pattern layer formed in a shape of the image on the base sheet. The transparent protective layer is disposed on the mask sheet so as to protect the opaque pattern layer. The transparent intermediate layer is disposed between the mask sheet and the protective layer. The intermediate layer has a softening temperature that is not more than 100.degree. C.
