An epoxy resin mixture which contains an epoxy resin represented by Formula (1) below and an epoxy resin represented by Formula (2) below at a weight ratio of 1:5 to 1:0.2. (In Formula (1), plural R1's each exist independently and represent a hydrogen atom or a C1-10 alkyl group, n represent a real number of 1 to 10, and G represents a substituted or unsubstituted glycidyl group.) (In Formula (2), plural R2's and R3's each exist independently and represent a hydrogen atom or a C1-10 alkyl group, n represents a real number of 1 to 10, and G represents a substituted or unsubstituted glycidyl group.).

Provided is a maleimide resin with superior solution stability. Also provided is a cured product with a superior dielectric characteristic that is obtained by curing a curable resin composition in which said maleimide resin is used. The maleimide resin expressed in formula (1), wherein the N,N′-(phenylene-di-(2,2,-propylidene)-di-p-phenylene) bismaleimide content is 90 area % or less. (In formula (1), n is the number of repetitions, and 1<n<5.)

Provided are an epoxy resin composition, a prepreg, a resin sheet, and a carbon fiber-reinforced composite material, which have high heat resistance, a high elastic modulus, low water absorption, and excellent flame resistance. This epoxy resin is a para-cresol novolac epoxy resin represented by General formula (1), in which a content ratio of components represented by n=1 as measured by gel permeation chromatography is less than 10% by area, and a content ratio of components represented by n=2 as measured by gel permeation chromatography is at least 1% by area and less than 40% by area.  (In the formula, plural R's each independently represent a C1-6 alkyl group, n represents a real number of 1 to 10, and G represents a substituted or unsubstituted glycidyl group.)

A cured product obtainable by curing an epoxy resin composition that is suitable for producing optical sheets. The epoxy resin composition includes a polyvalent carboxylic acid (A) represented by formula (I): wherein, R's each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 15 carbon atoms, or a carboxyl group; q represents the number of substituent R's, and represents an integer from 1 to 4; and P represents the following X: wherein there may be a plural number of R's per ring, and R's each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and * represents a bonding site linked to the oxygen atom; and an epoxy resin (B) having an aliphatic cyclic structure in the molecule.

Epoxy resin composition for transparent sheets and cured product thereof

A cured product obtainable by impregnating a glass cloth with an epoxy resin composition that is suitable for producing optical sheets. The epoxy resin composition includes a polyvalent carboxylic acid (A) represented by formula (I): wherein, R's each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 15 carbon atoms, or a carboxyl group; q represents the number of substituent R's, and represents an integer from 1 to 4; and P represents the following X: wherein there may be a plural number of R's per ring, and R's each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and * represents a bonding site linked to the oxygen atom; and an epoxy resin (B) having an aliphatic cyclic structure in the molecule. The cured product has a refractive index at 25&#xb0; C. of 1.51 or higher.

An epoxy resin composition for optical sheets, the composition comprising a polyvalent carboxylic acid (A) represented by formula (I): wherein R's each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 15 carbon atoms, or a carboxyl group; q represents the number of substituent R's, and represents an integer from 1 to 4; and P represents the following X: wherein there may be a plural number of R's per ring, and R's each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and * represents a bonding site linked to the oxygen atom; and an epoxy resin (B) having an aliphatic cyclic structure in the molecule.

This invention provides a modified liquid epoxy resin having a low viscosity and a high performance, which is obtained by reacting a mixture of a bisphenol and a phenol aralkyl resin with an epiholohydrin. The bisphenol is preferable to be bisphenol F and is further preferable to have a bifunctional form purity as detected by gel permeation chromatography at UV 254 nm of not less than 95% by area in view of the fluidity. Moreover, the mixture of bisphenol and the phenol aralkyl resin is preferable to have a ratio of the phenol aralkyl resin of 10-70% by mass.

Modified liquid epoxy resin as well as epoxy resin composition using the same and cured product thereof

There are provided an anionic polymer, a polyion complex, and a ternary polymer composite, each of which is stable in a biological environment and is capable of realizing small RNA delivery without causing any undesired immune response. An anionic polymer according to an embodiment of the invention includes: a main chain which includes repeating units having carboxyl groups; and a side chain which is linked with part of the carboxyl groups in the main chain and is represented by the following formula:-A-B&#x2014;Xwhere: A represents a residue having one or more aminoethyl bonds; B represents an in vivo cleavable bond; and X represents a small RNA. A polyion complex according to an embodiment of the invention includes the anionic polymer as described above and a cationic polymer. A ternary polymer composite according to an embodiment of the invention includes the polyion complex as described above and a charge conversional polymer.

Disclosed is a phenol aralkyl epoxy resin having a structure wherein at least a phenol or a naphthol is bound by using an aralkyl group as a linking group and a structure represented by formula (1) below, while satisfying the condition 1 below. This epoxy resin is excellent in workability during production of a composition and is easy to control quality. Condition 1: The following relation (&#x3b1;) is satisfied with A being the hydroxyl equivalent (as measured in accordance with JIS K 0070) of a phenol-modified epoxy resin obtained by adding an equivalent molar amount of phenol relative to the epoxy equivalent of the epoxy resin, and B being the epoxy equivalent of the epoxy resin. 50&#x2266;1000&#xd7;(A&#x2212;B)/B&#x2266;250 (&#x3b1;).

A phenol aralkyl type phenolic resin represented by the general formula (1), wherein the total content of the compounds represented by formulae (2) to (4) is 58 to 92% as determined by GPC and the contents of the compounds represented by formulae (2) to (4) as determined by HPLC satisfy the following relationship: 0.60&#x2266;(2a+b)/(2a+2b+2c)&#x2266;0.90 wherein a is the content of the compound of formula (2); b is the content of the compound of formula (3); and c is the content of the compound of formula (4). 

Phenolic resin, process for production thereof, epoxy resin, and use thereof

To provide an epoxy resin giving a cured object having high heat resistance, which is improved in impact resistance and moisture resistance as compared with conventional high-heat-resistance epoxy resins. The epoxy resin is obtained by glycidylating one or more phenol compounds comprising 95% or more 1,1,2,2-tetrakis (hydroxyphenyl)ethane, and is characterized in that in an examination by gel permeation chromatography, the epoxy resin has a tetranucleus-form content of 50 to 90% by area and an octanucleus-form content of at least 5% by area and has a total chlorine content of 5,000 ppm or smaller.

Disclosed is a composition for the delivery of nucleic acid to target cells or tissues, which comprises a polycationically charged polymer as a carrier of nucleic acid. The polycationically charged polymer is a polymer which may comprise a charged polymer segment having a main chain based on poly(amino acid), polysaccharide, polyester, polyether, polyurethane or vinyl polymer and having, as a side chain, a group of formula &#x2014;NH&#x2014;(CH)&#x2014;(NH(CH))&#x2014;NH(wherein a and e independently denote an integer of 1 to 5) which is connected to the main chain either directly or via a linker. The disclosed composition has low toxicity, and has a high efficiency in introducing nucleic acid into cells.

The present invention relates to a sealant for liquid crystals having extremely low contamination nature to a liquid crystal, excellent coatability and bondability to a substrate, long service life and pot life and high adhesive strength. A sealant for liquid crystals of the present invention is characterized by comprising (a) an epoxy resin represented by general formula (1): (wherein a represents an integer of 2 to 4; n represents 0 to 3 (average value); R represents a divalent hydrocarbon group of 2 to 6 carbon atoms; A represents a polyvalent aromatic group; and G represents a glycidyl group, provided that when n is 0, (a) an epoxy resin represented by general formula (1) is a bisphenol S-type.), (b) a thermo-curing agent, (c) and a filler having average particle diameter of not larger than 3 &#x3bc;m.
