An electrophotographic image-receiving sheet which includes a support, a toner-receiving layer which contains thermoplastic resin. The fixing belt electrophotographic sheet has an optimized separation force at a surface of the electrophotographic image-receiving sheet from the toner-receiving layer. Having a highly improved long-run properties, the fixing belt electrophotographic sheet realizes a stable paper feed without offset, and provides a good quality image with rich photographic features.

Electrophotographic image-receiving sheet and image-forming process using the same

To produce images at high speed, to conserve energy, and to be satisfactorily operated over the long run, a method fixes a toner onto an electrophotographic image-receiving sheet with the use of a belt fixing and smoothing apparatus and thereby forms an electrophotographic image. The belt fixing and smoothing apparatus includes a hot-pressing member, a belt member, a cooling device, and a cooling-releasing section. In the method, the total heat capacity per unit area in portions where the belt member, the toner, and the electrophotographic image-receiving sheet are in contact with one another is 840 J/K/mor less.

Image forming process and image forming apparatus

Provided is an image forming process which can effectively suppress the occurrence of separation electrification between a belt surface layer and an image-receiving layer of an electrophotographic image-receiving sheet at a cooling and separation unit, prevent dust from adsorbing to charges at each surface thereof, and print high quality images having near-photographic quality, in which a belt-fixing smoothing device having a heating and pressuring member, a belt member, a cooling device, and a cooling and separating unit is used to conduct fixing treatment to an electrophotographic image-receiving sheet. In this case, a surface resistivity (SR) of one side of the image-receiving sheet on which an image is formed satisfies the formula 1.0&#xd7;10&#x3a9;/cm&#x2266;SR&#x2266;1.0&#xd7;10&#x3a9;/cm, and a surface resistivity (SR) of one side of the belt member which becomes in contact with the image satisfies the formula SR&#x2266;1.0&#xd7;10&#x3a9;/cm.

An image receiving material for electrophotography having, on a support, one or more structural layers including a toner image receiving layer, wherein at least one layer of said structural layers comprises plasticizer, and wherein a flow starting temperature of said toner image receiving layer is at 30&#xb0; C. or higher that is, as well, lower than a temperature of a flow starting temperature of toner resin+10&#xb0; C., is disclosed. Using the image receiving material can provide formation of toner reflected images similar to photographs with respect to smoothness (glossiness) and also provide no image degradation by image roughness or removal.

Image receiving material for electrophotography

A self-photography apparatus has an imaging device for picking up an image signal representing a facial image of a human object, a determination device for determining the size of face of the human object. In accordance with the determined face size, the magnification of the image is adjusted so as to make the facial image have a predetermined size in a photograph. The determination device is comprised of a monitor display displaying a video facial image of the human object and indices as the scale of the face size. The magnification of image is changed by manually or automatically changing the object distance or mechanically changing the focal length of a taking lens device. When making a photograph by video printing, the determination device may be a controller determining the face size on the basis of the image signal, an image magnification conversion circuit converts the magnification of image in accordance with the face size determined by the controller. Based on the magnification-converted image signal, a video printer records the facial image on a photosensitive material.

Self-photography apparatus for making identification photograph

An image forming solvent applying device for applying an image forming solvent, for example, water, to a recording material whereby the recording material is immersed in the image forming solvent and bubbles or dust are wiped from the surface of the recording material. The solvent is supplied into a lower guide member which cooperates with an upper guide member to guide the recording material through the solvent. The two guide members each have a plurality of ribs extending obliquely with respect to a direction of movement of the recording material such that the ribs wipe the entire area of the recording material at least once as viewed in a widthwise direction of the recording material perpendicular to its direction of movement as it is conveyed along the ribs.

An image-forming process using a long rolled transparent light-sensitive recording material is disclosed. The process comprises applying at least two image-forming steps each including at least an image exposure and a development to a long rolled transparent light-sensitive recording material comprising a support having thereon a light-sensitive layer and a surface protective layer containing a hardenable compound and fine particles. The recording material preferably has a backing layer containing fine particles.

Image-forming process using long-rolled photosensitive material

The present invention provides a process for preparation of a charge-regulatory agent characterized by reacting an amino acid with a titanium compound in an organic solvent to form a reaction mixture and further reacting the resultant reaction mixture with water which is equimolar or more to said titanium compound, and a liquid developer for development of an electrostatic image comprising a dispersion of resin-containing toner particles dispersion in a carrier solution having an electric resistance of 10.sup.9 .OMEGA..multidot.cm or more and a dielectric constant of 3.5 or less and containing said charge-regulatory agent prepared as mentioned above. When an electrostatic latent image is developed with the present liquid developer containing the special charge-regulatory agent, an image of excellent resolving power, good half-tone reproduction and excellent gradation may be obtained without the occurence of any image flow.

Process for preparation of charge-regulatory agent and liquid developer

Liquid developers for electrostatic images

A silver halide photosensitive material having an improved antistatic property is disclosed, comprising a base support having thereon an electrically conductive layer comprised of fine particles of a crystalline metal oxide selected from the group consisting of ZnO, TiO.sub.2, ZrO.sub.2, SnO.sub.2, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, In.sub.2 O.sub.3, SiO.sub.2, MgO, BaO and MoO.sub.3 or a composite oxide thereof dispersed in a binder, the light scattering efficiency of said photosensitive material being 50% or less. The electrically conductive layer gives excellent antistatic properties even under low humidity preventing the generation of static charges without damaging photographic properties of the silver halide photosensitive material.

Photosensitive materials having improved antistatic property

An electrically-conductive support for an electrophotographic medium, comprising a support and an electrically-conductive layer provided on the support is disclosed. The electrically-conductive layer comprises a binder and electrically-conductive metal oxide fine particles having an average grain size of 0.5.mu. or less, dispersed in the binder.

A photopolymerizable composition having improved thermal stability comprising (a) a polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomer, (b) an initiator represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein Z represents the non-metallic atoms necessary to complete a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic nucleus; R.sup.1 represents an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group; and R.sup.2 represents an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group, an unsubstituted or substituted aryl group, or a thienyl group; and (c) a chlorinated polyolefin as a binder and additionally containing (d) about 1 to about 30% by weight of an epoxy compound.

Photopolymerizable composition with epoxy stabilizers

A recording material comprising a support, a layer of a light-sensitive composition on the support, and a transparent film on the layer of the light-sensitive composition wherein the light-sensitive composition comprises (a) a monomer containing at least two addition polymerizable unsaturated bonds and having a boiling point of at least 100.degree. Image recording material and method for forming an image using the same

A recording material comprising a support having coated thereon a layer of a photopolymerizable composition comprising (a) a chlorinated polyolefin, (b) a monomer having at least one addition-polymerizable unsaturated bond, (c) a photo-polymerization initiator, and (d) a polymeric material having a molecular weight above about 10,000 is described. This recording material is suited for use as a photoresist material, particularly for tenting.
