An absorbent article for minimizing detachment between a top sheet and absorbent body, for stably maintaining an absorption performance, while maintaining a satisfactory feel on a skin of the top sheet. The top sheet has a plurality of raised sections extended in a lengthwise direction at predetermined intervals in a widthwise direction, and a plurality of furrow sections extended in the lengthwise direction between the raised sections. The furrow section has a first recess section including a first bottom section, and a plurality of second recess sections inside the first recess section. The second recess section includes a second bottom section having a highest fiber density of the top sheet. A portion at a second surface of a top section of the raised section is not joined to an absorbent body. The second bottom section of the second recess section of the furrow section is joined to the absorbent body.

An absorbent article capable of giving a sense of higher security to a user is provided. The absorbent article includes nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric includes organic cotton fibers. The organic cotton fibers form a plurality of fiber lumps in the nonwoven fabric. The fiber lumps are configured to be visible from the outside. The light transmittance of the portion corresponding to the fiber lumps in the nonwoven fabric is lower than the light transmittance of a portion where the fiber lumps are not present in the nonwoven fabric.

The present invention addresses the problem of providing an absorbent article that is provided with a liquid-permeable layer, said liquid-permeable layer having convex portions that are hollow inside, has an improved ability to transfer menstrual blood from the liquid-permeable layer to an absorbent body and can reduce the amount of the menstrual blood remaining in the liquid-permeable layer (in particular, the internal cavities in the convex portions). An absorbent article is provided with a liquid-permeable top sheet, a liquid-impermeable back sheet and an absorbent body between the top sheet and the back sheet. The top sheet has a non-woven fabric having multiple convex portions and multiple concave portions. The individual convex portions and concave portions contain a blood lubricity-imparting agent that has a kinetic viscosity of 0.01-80 mm/s at 40&#xb0; C., a water retention rate of 0.01-4.0 mass % and a weight-average molecular weight of less than 1,000. The present invention addresses the problem of, in an absorbent article, maintaining at a certain level or lower the difference between the dry flexural rigidity and wet flexural rigidity [(dry flexural rigidity)&#x2212;(wet flexural rigidity)] at a bonding part. The present invention addresses the problem of providing a novel absorbent that comprises a water-absorbing cellulose-based fiber and a thermoplastic resin fiber, said thermoplastic resin fiber containing as a monomer component an unsaturated carboxylic acid or an unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydride, and has both a sufficient strength and a sufficient absorption property.
