A conveyance system. The conveyance system includes a movable device for conveying an article, and a robot selected from the group consisting of an articulated robot and an orthogonal robot. The movable device is configured to be both vertically and horizontally movable; and, the robot is mounted on the movable device. The robot includes a hand and a gripper disposed on the hand. The gripper is configured to hold the article. The movable device and the robot are configured to convey the article in conveyance operations that include an extraction, a conveyance, and an installation, of the article; the range of the conveyance operations lies within a working range of the robot from a present position that is selected with priority. The movable device is configured to remain in a stationary state when the article is conveyed by the robot using the conveyance operations within the working range.

Conveyance system and automated manufacturing system

Embodiments of the invention provide a data storage device test method and data storage device manufacture method which allow a tester to perform an operation test of plural data storage devices connected thereto in a shorter period of time. In one embodiment, an operation test of each of plural HDDs-connected to a tester is performed by making plural HDDs-execute commands received from the tester, wherein, during a waiting period when exchange stops between the tester and, for example, HDDof which operation test is being executed, the tester executes the operation test of another HDD. Such a waiting period occurs, for example, before HDDbecomes ready to receive a command, before a data transfer is completed and before HDDbecomes ready to receive the subsequent command. By using this waiting period, the tester issues a command to, for example, HDDif the HDD is ready to receive a command or transfers data to the HDD if data transfer is possible.

Multi drive test system for data storage device

Embodiments of the invention provide an HDD functional test apparatus which can test an HDD in a shorter time by increasing the amount of transfer per command without using a larger memory resource. In one embodiment, a data storage device test apparatus comprises a storage section to store original data; a data generating section which generates transfer data, larger in size than the original data, for each command to a data storage device by repeatedly using the original data; and a transfer section which transfers the generated transfer data to the data storage device.

Functional test method and functional test apparatus for data storage devices

Embodiments of the invention provide a mounting structure adapted to easily attach and remove a magnetic disk drive thereto and therefrom. In one embodiment, the mounting structure includes a device connector connectable to an interface connector. A clamper moves between a fixing position and a releasing position to secure or release an end portion of a housing. A lever keeps the clamper at the releasing position until the interface connector is connected to the device connector when a magnetic disk drive is pushed into a mounting structure. The clamper positions the clamper at the fixing position after the interface connector has been connected to the device connector.
